WX Radar Not Working In the Panel [resolved]

Post by wmccracken » Wed Jan 03, 2018 8:44 pm

I have the following installed.

Windows 10
P3D v4.1
DHC-2 Beaver 171559
WX Radar 20171207

The WX in the panel does not display. WX from drop down works fine. When the drop down is displayed the knobs on the panel WX rotate but no display. If drop down is not display panel WX knobs do not rotate.

What am I missing?

Thank You.

Getting WX radar to work did not solve my problem.

I m using P3D v4.1 and Windows 10.

I even installed XMLTools3d. Thinking that was the problem. This can't be that hard.

My original problem still exist. Nothing has change.

Thank You.

I don't recognise the version number but have released since the original post an updated installer , If the MVAMS is run with the DHC 2 selected you should see an update offered with new WX systems specific to your sim .

The version I'm using is 171229. Which I installed on 1/3/18.

Is that the latest?

Thank You.

That doesn't look like the panel cfg of the aircraft you are using since it doesn't even have the 2D popup window entry for the WX in it.

There are several "panel" folders in the SimObjects/Airplanes/DHC-2 Beaver Milviz folder. Below is the panel.cfg from the "panel.GNS750_WX" folder. I notice there is no [Window] for the WX Advantage Radar listed. Could this be the problem? How could this happen?

Thank You.

No it is present, although at the bottom of the file. It should still work though. That said, is there a MV_WX.dll file in any of your panel folders or gauges folder?

That file is in the gauges folder. Not in any of the panel folders. Does it need to be in one of the panel folders?

Thank you for your continued support. As I said this can't be that hard. Or can it. :)

Not a case of need to be. Since you have one in your gauges folder, you obviously purchased the WXAdvantage from REX. The same file is shipped with our Beaver and Otter but it is locked to work only when one of these aircraft is loaded. To avoid wiping out your original WX install and preventing you from using it at all with other aircraft, we place the locked version in a panel folder. If the aircraft you are loading is using that particular panel, then it should work. If there is no MV_WX.dll in that panel folder, it will end up using the one from your gauges folder. That is why I asked if there is a MV_WX.dll in any of your panel folders because if there is, then the sim is trying to use it but failing to do so. In which case I need to know what is the version number on it.

The version number of the MV_WX.dll in the gauges folder is 1.40.0.38.

I feel we are getting some where.

Thanks.

And you are certain there are no MV_WX.dlls in any of your panel folders, and that you are using a panel that has the WX loaded? You verified this in the AMS?
