MV407 doesn't load in P3Dv3.2
Hello,
Two days ago, I've installed the MV407 for the first time. I'm using Prepar3Dv3.2 on a Win7 system.
So during installation, I've selected the option "Prepar3DV3.x"
After starting P3D and selecting the helicopter, I have the following error message:
" You are running a product that is licenced only for use in Prepar3Dv2. FSX will now shut down".
Only for P3Dv2???... On your website, it is clearly indicated that the 407 is working with P3Dv3!
My anti-virus is disabled and I'm running the sim as an admin.
The appropriate SimConnect libraries are installed (P3D\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib).
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,
I have replaced the sound gauge by the new one.
No effect. Still the same message telling me that the product is licenced only for P3Dv2!...
Still impossible to load the 407 and the simulator shut down immediately after the message.

Check your panel folder for another gauge like that one. If there is one, delete it.

Re: MV407 doesn't load in P3Dv3.2
Hello,
The problem is partially solved!
I discovered something very strange…
In fact, I have multiple P3D.exe: the default one, one for A2A aircraft, one for the PMDG737NGX and one for the Dodosim B206.
Until now, since I installed the MV407, I started the simulator with the P3D_B206.exe, which works also for other helicopters.
I don't know why, but the MV407 refuse to load with any executable, EXCEPT with the default “Prepar3D.exe”!...
Starting from this executable, I then created a new one named “P3D_B407.exe” and again, the same error message followed by a shutdown of the simulator!
This is a problem because aircraft and helicopters are all different. I don’t like the idea of optimizing the default “exe” for a particular aircraft or helicopter only. It should be kept as a security “exe” in case of trouble.
It is an easy procedure to create multiple executables depending if we fly a Jet ranger, a fighter, a Boeing 737 or any other aircraft.
Is there something that you can do to solve this issue?
Best regards.

Urm....There shouldn't be a need for multiple exe files. That's asking for problems.

Re: MV407 doesn't load in P3Dv3.2
Not at all!
It's much more easy to have a dedicated exe file per aircraft!
Flight controls and overhead switches are completely different from one aircraft or heli to another!
I'm busy to build a mixed simulator (already operational). Left: Boeing or general aviation. Right: Helicopter. All this with their specific flight controls.
By the way, it is so easy to create multiple exe's. It's just a question of creating an new exe and after a first start, duplicate a few files in the P3D control panel! And finally, configure the flight controls.
A lot of friends here, in the sim community are doeing this.
I'm really surprised that the MV407 doesn' t load with a different exe file name!?
With only the default "Prepar3D.exe", how do you manage the flight controls of your MV737, fighters and helicopters?
It's an interresting subject and If you prefer, we can discuss this via PM.
Best regards.

Re: MV407 doesn't load in P3Dv3.2
Put it this way, your setup is anything but normal. No one who tests has their sim set up that way, nor do most of the others. We have no way of figuring out how to resolve such a problem because it goes far beyond what can be tested for. I would guess there is a missing path in one of the config files for your sim but again, too many possibilities for us to figure out. And since the majority of flight simmers use the simulator in the default way, trying to replicate your problem would upset the stability of our setups and leave us spending days trying to recover it rather than fixing genuine bugs in the products that We develop. Wish I could help you more but....

Re: MV407 doesn't load in P3Dv3.2
Ok I understand.
But It remains a mystery for me how you can fly a 737 and a Bell407, both with realistic hardware controls, with the same simulator exe file?
Nevertheless, I thank you for your help and for the sound gauge.
One last question: in the 19 pages documentation, under the table of contents, it’s indicated that a large, detailed PDF manual (BHT-407-FM-1) is included in the installer package. Being a real pilot, I like full information about an aircraft or helicopter.
But I don’t find it, neither in the P3D\Milviz directory, and neither in the Rotorcraft\Milviz_Bell407\Documents. Only the 19 pages document is included (3 times, but with another name!)…
Is it possible to have a download link for the full manual?
Best regards.

No. Sorry. We're not allowed to do so.
We never got around to removing that in the manual.
You can try on the net... they're out there...

Re: MV407 doesn't load in P3Dv3.2
Just checking…so the "large more detailed, PDF manual included in with the MILVIZ 407 installer package" is not actually included…and that's because it was some sort of real Bell 407 manual?
So it didn't cover things like turning on the night sun…or if in fact the night sun can be turned on?
Or what the heck the "Free Radios" setting is? I figure that setting is something like Free Range Chickens…but with radios…not quite sure how that works.

Re: MV407 doesn't load in P3Dv3.2
Yes we could not include that manual due to licensing issues with Bell.
Nope it didn't cover the night sun or the free radio panel.
The free radios panel is one that allows you to set up your own radio stack configuration if you wish.

Re: MV407 doesn't load in P3Dv3.2
Thanks for the info. I'll find the Bell manual if I need it…which I won't
If I would like to set up the radio stack - perhaps the old Bendix stack - I'm sure there is something somewhere that tells me how to do it - I'm pretty sure it is not in the manual (which I have read) - not asking for thee complete answer here but you could post me to a link it would be much appreciated.
Cheers!
Great news on the Free Range RadiosJonathanBleeker wrote: The free radios panel is one that allows you to set up your own radio stack configuration if you wish.

I don't know the specifics for that answer but someone else might. It does require knowledge of editing the panel cfg for the free radio panel option.
