MV 732 P3D4: WXR and Sound

Post by Fab10 » Wed Apr 25, 2018 3:53 pm

Hi,

Thank you for the release of the MV 732 for P3D4.

However, I am having issues with the WXR, as a misplaced black looking image appears in front of the WXR display, and because it's misplaced, you can see the WXR functioning underneath; the 2D WXR works fine (see attached PNG) and the aircraft.cfg entry shows panel=wx for the livery that I am testing. This black shape appears above even a 3rd party WXR gauge which again can be seen in the background working, so at this time I am unable even to swap out the MV gauge with a P3D4 friendly WXR gauge.

I am having trouble finding the updated product manual - where is it kept in this model?

The initial sounds seem intermittent and present only for a short time before it fades out but engine sounds are fine.

Lastly, and sorry to ask again, were you able to make the pedestal area that was once for the FMC into a blank gauge placeholder, and if so, what are the coordinates for it?

Thanks again,
Fabio

For some reason the screen for the XML TCAS screen is showing up. That should not happen. I'll have to see what happened with that. I'll also check on the custom sounds that apparently aren't working properly.

You cannot replace either the TCAS or the WX Radar in any case because they are 3d modeled. You can comment out either gauge, but the 3d mesh will still be there.

Look at the very bottom of either of the panel.cfg files and take note of the "FreeSpace" [VCockpit..} entry:

Code: Select all

//--------------------------------------------------------
[Vcockpit22]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=512,512
visible=0
pixel_size=512,512
texture=$B737_FreeSpace

//gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500,  0,0,407,339
I'll have to measure the absolute pixel size of the polygon's UVW height area, but the width is 407 pixels.

Hi Bill,
Thank you, I really appreciate your help.
I’m not sure that I follow what I need to do, but I am more than happy to edit and amend, just not sure what.
Again, thank you.
Fabio

PS. The WXR I was temporarily trying is a freeware model based on the AS API, and it doesn't need or use the 3D surround, so literally it can replace the display portion only; anyway, it was just a test to see if it would help.

The "FreeSpace" polygon is:

height=512 pixels
width=408 pixels

Thanks, I appreciate your reply.
However, I’m still not sure what to do with the size of the freespace polygon.
If I could please ask what edit I should make, then I’d be happy to give it a go and report back.
With many thanks,
Fabio

Uncomment (remove the //) from this line, and substitute whatever gauge you want to place on that polygon:

//gauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0,407,339

Keep the zeros for the x,y and then set the width to 408. You can leave the height blank and the 'gauge' will automatically determine it's own height.

gauge00=MyGauge!Whatever, 0,0,409

But, before you get all involved with this, I'm fixing to upload a new installer with the custom sounds restored and a few minor fixes made.

Hi,
Thank you.
I’ll make the adjustments so that I can get airborne, and I’ll lookout for the new installer.
