737-200 Altimeter Tip Window in Millibars

Post by jfwharton » Fri Apr 13, 2018 9:51 pm

I noticed that even though I have my settings set to U.S. System (feet and inches) when setting the altimeter in the 737-200 the tool tip window for the altimeter show millibars instead of inches.

I provided the tooltip as a courtesy for those who are used to hecto-pascals (mB) for altimeter calibration. The drum readout shows inches of mercury, just as the C310R does.

Ok I was just curious. Most of the other aircraft I have provide both millibars and inches in the tool tip. And I can always just use the "b" key to set the altimeter.

The gauge shows both readings on the bottom edge, so I just refer to this. Hope that helps.
