Some issues with v4.171212 [resolved]

Post by corkery » Sun Jan 28, 2018 7:04 pm

Pleased to see the P3DV4 version so I could make some flighs without the OOMs I got on nearly every occasion with FSX. After install however I found these issues:
  • Selecting weather radar in the MVAMS puts a 'wx' panel entry in the config file but the panel is named .s77_WX so it won't work until that is renamed.
  • There is no APU windup sound
  • Can't start either engine form cold & Dark following the procedure in the Quick Start guide. The engines just spool up to approx 22% sound then the spool up sound just loops with no increase in power i.e. it doesn't 'catch. Yes I am remembering to do step 7 and click the correct engine 'cut-off' switch'
Any ideas?

Depending on whatever aircraft was loaded previously (or is the "default" aircraft), you may have to press Ctrl-Shift-F4 to set "mixtures" to full rich. Even though jets don't use mixture controls, they still have the effect of keeping fuel from flowing.

Tried Ctrl-Shift-F4 after loading in P3DV4.1 still can't get either engine started?

What does your fuel load look like?

ah, didn't remember (realise) that after first installation it is cold dark & empty! Engines now start. Thanks.
