PFPX Flight Plans

Post by Bluestar » Sun Nov 06, 2016 3:35 am

When I try to load a PFPX generated flight plan into the FMC the VNAV shows the departure airport and the first waypoint to be 5,700 miles apart. All other waypoints are the correct distance apart. When I attempt to put the departure runway and sid in the FMC, they do not show. The same is true for the arrival airport. All appears correct on the NAV page. When I depart, instead of flying toward the first waypoint, the aircraft turns toward the location 5,700 miles away.

When I manually load the exact same flight plan into the FMC the VNAV shows the correct distance from the departure airport. I am also able to load the runways and sids from the menu. When I depart with the manually generated flight plan, the aircraft flies toward the first waypoint as it should.

I am guessing there is some problem with the PFPX generated flight plan, but I am not sure what it is and how to correct it.

I did a search and found a similar problem on the milviz board from two years ago, but there was never a solution.

There's no solution for this. Sorry.

Colin,

Thanks for the reply. Is this a specific PFPX problem or all flight planners?

All I think. We don't have the source code for the UNS so any problems it has loading plans that are already created are beyond our ability to fix.
