WX ADV Radar integration in Milviz 737 VC
Hello,
Purchased and installed the weather radar but I don't see it integrated in my VC. If I use the gauge installer, then it adds it as a 2D popup but that is not what I want.
The literature states that 3D placement in the VC is possible; is there a specific sequence/procedure to make this happen? If so, can you please describe it?
Regards,
Greg

Greg, you will need to download and run the latest Unified Installer, then simply choose the WX Advantage option in the installer.

Re: WX ADV Radar integration in Milviz 737 VC
Hello,
Thank you for replying so quickly. It would appear my problem may be related to the unified installer. I purchased the product from the Flight Sim Store (FSS) and re-downloaded the product again yesterday and again today (both times turning off all my a/v and UAC controls), but the installer I am presented is not like the one in the picture. It shows no P3D options ( I am actually installing to FSX legacy). According to FSS, the product was last updated last week. The version is the same but again, no P3D option (interesting thought, in the original version v2.140618 I purchased, it shows the P3D option). I think I'll give it a few days and see if FSS updates the product again.
Thank you again for the help and the info. If there is anything else that I can do in meantime, please let me know.
Regards,
Greg

Re: WX ADV Radar integration in Milviz 737 VC
Just for the sake of complete information, the installer will only give options to install to sim versions that are installed and properly registered in the "Registry." Note that when I ran the installer for the screen clip, I only have FSX and Prepar3D v2.x installed on my development computer. If I run the same installer on my main testing machine, I will see four sim versions, FSX, FSX:SE, P3Dv2.x and P3Dv3.x from which to choose.

Re: WX ADV Radar integration in Milviz 737 VC
I installed using the WX choice, but, there are no options for it in the Configurtation Manager. Used v3.160428 downlaoded here.
I manually added "_WX" to the model and panel entries in the aircraft.cfg, but then when I open the Manager there is a check box in every entry and nothing can be changed.
Still waiting to get the WX installed, having big problems with it for some reason (posted on REX forums).
Thanks.
Joe

Joe, there is nothing in the configuration manager for the WX option, as it was made years ago, long before this recent WX was even thought of.
The only thing that the installer will do is add three new model folders
You should use the Configuration Manager to set up each livery, then add the _WX suffix to each model.xxx and panel.xxx folder.
The only thing that the installer will do is add three new model folders
- model.cargo_WX
- model.combi_WX
- model.pax_WX
- panel.s77_WX
- panel.s77fms_WX
- panel.s177_WX
You should use the Configuration Manager to set up each livery, then add the _WX suffix to each model.xxx and panel.xxx folder.

Hello,
And thank you all for the info and suggestions. Added the _WX suffix to the model and panel lines as suggested and now everything works. Off to go find some bad weather to fly in.

Re: WX ADV Radar integration in Milviz 737 VC
I have followed the install instructions found in this thread re: latest Milviz 737-200C installer, checking box for WX Advantage integration and configuring each aircraft in the Milviz Addon Manager before editing the aircraft config model and panel lines. When I make the "_W" changes to the Alaska Airlines panel and model lines in the aircraft.cfg for example, the Alaska Airlines model is missing from the P3D v3.3 available aircraft list (Windows 10). By deleting the "_W" config lines edits, the aircraft is then included in the aircraft list.
In contrast, the WX Advantage integration into the Milviz Baron 55 went flawlessly.
Any help would be most appreciated!
Any chance in a future update to add a WX Advantage Integration checkbox to the Milviz Addon Manager to simplify this process?
Thanks in advance for the assistance.

The suffix is not "_W" it is "_WX"EagleOne49 wrote:When I make the "_W" changes to the Alaska Airlines panel and model lines in the aircraft.cfg for example, the Alaska Airlines model is missing from the P3D v3.3 available aircraft list (Windows 10). OK, now I feel like a TOTAL IDIOT! I have no clue where I came up with _W instead of _WX. Obviously a figment of my imagination.
Now works fine! Problem solved...
THANK YOU!

Re: WX ADV Radar integration in Milviz 737 VC
I used the latest installer and checked the Wx Option. In the Milviz Boeing 737-200 Folder I have the following models:
- model.cargo (Milviz_737_200.MDL + Milviz_737_200_interior.MDL + model.CFG) - panel.s77
- model.cargo_Wx (Milviz_737_200_WX_interior.MDL + model.CFG) - panel.s77_WX
- model.combi (Milviz_737_200_Combi.MDL + model.CFG) - panel.s77fms_WX
- model.combi_Wx (model.CFG) - panel.s177
- model.Pax (Milviz_737_200_Pax.MDL + model.CFG) - panel.s177_WX
- model.pax_Wx (model.CFG) - panel.sp77fms
So far the Wx Radar does not show up. What do I have to do to fix this problem?
Thanks!

Re: WX ADV Radar integration in Milviz 737 VC
You have to manually "activate" the WX Radar by editing the aircraft.cfg file by adding the "_WX" suffix to the model and panel entries:
[fltsim.0]
title=Milviz B737-200 CanNorth
sim=737-200
model=cargo_WX
panel=s177_WX
[fltsim.0]
title=Milviz B737-200 CanNorth
sim=737-200
model=cargo_WX
panel=s177_WX
