Engines shut down after adding power

Post by Wings of Gold » Fri Feb 15, 2019 12:06 am

Bought 737 today. Have it configured to come up ready to fly. Weights are within MTOW. Engines are running after load and everything seems normal. I slowly begin adding power. Very shortly thereafter I see the master caution come on - and the rpm starts spoiling down. Have double checked every thing several times in manual - but the problem persists. Advice please.

I have spoken to our programmer who suggests setting your default aircraft to 'ready to fly'
Another thing to check is that you have enough fuel.

Hi Osh,

Thanks, but I don't know how to set my default (F-22) to come up "Ready to fly". I can set my 737-200 to do that (and have), but not SET my default aircraft. My F-22 DOES start ready to fly - but how do I SET it to do that?

My F-22 comes up with 100% fuel in it. I also had fuel in my 737-200.

Regards,
Bill

If your F-22 comes up ready to fly, then you're all set.
Did you add fuel via MVAMS?

In reviewing how I entered the fuel into the MVAMs\Payloads, I discovered I had misinterpreted what was needed (pounds not %). I did indeed starve the engines. I however have a couple of other questions that I can not find either in the Milviz Manual or the Boeing 737 FCOM:
1/ What is the maximum passenger load in each section of the "Pax" model?
2/ When adding fuel (MVAMS\Payload), my fuel is split between the two wing tanks until they are full - then the center tank is filled. I presume it is used in this manner (center tank first, then equally from the wing tanks)?

1: I think the AMS automatically limits them as soon as you switch box focus.
2: Correct. Center first then wings is how the fuel is used.

Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for the reply. I don't understand your first comment. Example: If I want to fly with each cabin section 60% full - how can I enter those values into the appropriate MVAMS Payload section unless I first know how many passengers are possible (100%) in each cabin section?

Well you could run the counters up to their max and that would give you the limits which you could then adjust.

I just did a test here though.
For Combi:
Mid Coach: 24
Aft Coach A: 24
Aft Coach B: 18

For Pax:
1st Class: 12
Fwd Coach A: 18
Fwd Coach B: 18
Mid Coach: 24
Aft Coach A: 24
Aft Coach B: 18
