Engine glow off-center
Running the latest version in FSX:SE, the engine glow effect seems to be off center, such as when you roll about the axis you can tell it's not centered around the axis of the tailpipe, so it kind of wobbles inside of the tailpipe. The degree of severity also changes depending on your heading, so something related to the planes position in the FSX "world" is also a factor. Now I have noticed this with the afterburner effect in another addon aircraft from another manufacturer, so It's more than likely related to FSX, but the other developer is mystified by it so I figured I would see if anyone has any ideas here. The only thing that has changed since I installed the Sabre was I ran "verify integrity of game cache" in Steam, as I had a corrupted scenery file and that was what ended up fixing it. What sort of core files would control effects being lined up with models for third party addons within FSX? I figured reinstalling the addons would fix the situation but it hasn't so it must be something within FSX that's causing this. Hopefully someone has some insight into this as it's been incredibly frustrating trying to fix. Thanks in advance.

It is a bug in the simulator. The same phenomena will be seen in aircraft with HUDs. If you center your view on your HUD and change aircraft heading in slew mode, you will see the viewpoint move around.

Ok I read something about that elsewhere. So there's nothing that can be done about it? The IT professional in me is beating himself up over a solution but if that's just the way she goes then so be it. I've been away from FSX for a long time so I've forgotten a lot about it.

The only way to fix it would be to make it 3D and that's nothing to happen at this juncture. Sorry.

No worries, so theoretically if it were 3d it shoudn't be off-center? Because it doesn't seem to matter for me unless some of these afterburner effects only look 3d and really aren't.

Well I deleted all the local content and let it all re-download and the effects are still off center so maybe they have always been like that and I only happened to notice after I ran a verify. One last thought, would video drivers have any effect on this?

Nope. As I said earlier, it is a bug lying deep in FSX's internal code. Has nothing to do with the video card as the video card is only drawing what it gets. Faulty information is being sent to it.
