AP hold ALT hold

When I assign the master ap to B2 Joystick and ALT hold to Joystick B4 and select an ALT of 7,000 ft.
When I engage B2 to AP works but engaging B4 the ALT hold does not work. Thus, I proceed above
the 7,000 selected ALT. / Warnings from ATC!!.

Does it work when you use your mouse to click it?

The ALT on the Bendix works with the mouse only after I engage the HDG button.
