Install of F-15E Manually
I know it is not supported; however, I see some have tested F-15E in Prepar3d. I tried as well but unable to get F-15E to install in a directory other than the FSX it finds. How would someone go about installing it elsewhere??
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Install of F-15E Manually
So I managed to get it installed and running on LM Prepar3D. It works perfectly AND it is more stable. I have not had a crash or graphics issues after an incident or a pause. Bombs and explosions work great as well.
For those that don't know: Prepar3D is FSX with tons of mods. Almost everything is the same save the UI interfaces.
I may just stick to Prepar3D; at least they are continuing to develop it.

I'm curious as to how you managed to get it to work... as well, is this P3D V2?

Re: Install of F-15E Manually
I installed it to a blank folder and moved them over to the P3D directories. I renamed the current FSX directory to FSX1 for the purposes of installing F-15E into a blank FSX directory.
Yes, P3D v2 Pro Plus. (Turns out I'm a developer)
I have found a crash point; during flight, if you reset the sim crashes. I don't reset anymore.
Also, having issue with the boom operator from the KC-135; he won't lower the boom. Hopefully I have a gauge issue and it isn't a programmatic issue.
Now when VRS offers the SuperBug in P3D, it's farewell to FSX.

Re: Install of F-15E Manually
Try these procedures for tanking. Its the only way I have gotten the boom to be lowered and give me fuel since I cant get into the code myself.
Before Loading Tanker
Master Arm On
Radar On
Radar Mode RWS
ARMT page on left MFD
A/A RDR page on right MFD
AIM-9 selected
Altitude Less than 25000MSL (use radar altitude)
Load Tanker
Select SS mode on radar and lock up tanker
Open Refuel Port
Get into near pre contact (about .5nm behind tanker)
Master Arm off
Radar Off then Standby
Refuel
Break Away
Close Refuel port
Master arm and radar on with AIM-9 selected
Shoot tanker down
Carry on journey

Re: Install of F-15E Manually
Followed your procedures and indeed the boom was lowered. I heard the "connected" and since my skills are pre-nugg at best, 10 seconds later heard "disconnected"; however, no go-juice was added. I was in "easy tanker mode" which seemed odd it didn't fill'r-up while I was near....
What has your experience been? How long did you have to maintain connection to get petrol flowing?
Cheers!

In easy mode I can get quite far behind the tanker and still get fuel even with the fuel door closed. The only way I can stop it is by shooting down the tanker.

Re: Install of F-15E Manually
I ran across this thread this past weekend and thought I'd try to install the F-15E in my P3D v4.2 Pro installation.
Windows 10 wouldn't let me change the name of the FSX directory, saying the file was opened in another place, probably one (or all) of the scenery/airfield add-ons.
As a work-around, I went to my laptop, downloaded the set-up file there and executed it. It's installed in the C\Program Files(x86)\My Programs directory (auto-created).
I copied these "installed" files from this My Programs directory onto a thumb drive and copied them directly into the P3D root directory.
The F-15E loads properly into a P3D scenario. Great graphics, able to move view around. Only problem is the engines won't start and the "Nuclear Consent" switch is inoperable, as is the JFS start switch. I wonder if there's something different in v4.2 Pro that prevents this procedure from working.
Has anyone been successful getting F-15E working in v4.2 Pro?
If you know of a work-around for this I'd appreciate a response here.
Thanks,
WMM

Possible in the 32 bit version (v.3) I think, but not in 64

Re: Install of F-15E Manually
That figures!
Hope you guys decide to put out a P3D version of the F-15E. I think I read somewhere that you were maybe, just possibly, perhaps thinking about it.
Thanks for the response.

Re: Install of F-15E Manually
We are just finishing an F-15C model that is a far, far superior simulation. It should be out relatively shortly.
