MVSounds error
Downloaded the V4 T38
Installed into F:\Addon Aircraft\Milviz
set up the addon.xml for SImobjects, Effects & fonts.
Run P3DV4 - a/c are listred in the selection menu just fine
Select any T38 paint get a slew of errors:
System cannot find the path specified
errorcode 0x3
Location 5
File: F:\AddonAircraft\Milviz\Simobjects\Airplanes\T-38A_Milviz\Panel\MVSounds\SND1.wav
an all the subsequent files.
I couldn't find a MVSounds folder anywhere.
Any thoughts?
Thanx,
Vic

Re: MVSounds error
I dont think installing outside of the sim is supported. You must install inside the sim

Re: MVSounds error
That is correct. It MUST be in the sim directory.

Yup, that was it.
Hopefully, down the road the location can be user configurable. I'm finding the xml method a great way to organize and it makes for a seamless and quick reinstall during testing.

Re: MVSounds error
The custom sound gauge is currently set up to look in the FSX or P3D ..\SimObjects folder to get the "relative path" of the custom sound files. In order to support custom installation outside the root folder of P3Dv4 and beyond, would require re-factoring the custom sound .dll to allow for ad-hoc and unpredictable install paths...

Re: MVSounds error
The sound module is set up to support custom installs (I did it for the default P-38 in v4), but the cockpit lighting and particularly the ADV version requires the relative path method.

Re: MVSounds error
Well, I didn't say it would be EASY!
That's why you guys get the big bucks!!
I understand the issue. Was worth a try but I'm betting that somewhere down the road, maybe v5 or v6 - LM will make external folders mandatory.
Thanx!
