Alone, Unarmed and Unafraid: The MilViz RF-4C Request Post

Colin and Company,

I'll be dead and buried before A2A releases an F-4.

How about a MilViz tribute to the Recce Fast Movers of the USAF and USMC?

With no weapons package to speak of, would this not be something you guys could knock out of the park?

Here's a link for a historical perspective:

Just thinking ... ;-)

Absolutely, Absolutely, Absolutely! An RF-4C would be the ultimate no-brainer purchase!

F-4 is a too popular aircraft to have slipped under the radar. I'm quite hopeful there are plans for some model, if not this, at minimum.

A2A Simulations is working on the F-4D right now with full Accusim systems. It will be out soon.

Ah... Sarcasm!!!!

Cause I know that they have the P-51H, P-51D, Spitfire, F-104, an unnanounced T-34C (probably) and then the F-4B/D.

At this time, we're not looking at an RF-4C.... sorry...

Thanks for the vote(s) of confidence though... Much appreciated.

TBH, the P-51D and H should be out in the next 60 days (they've gone into their usual pre-release "black out" meaning they're really close) and then we should see the F-104 and F-4D coming by the end of the year unless they run into new problems. The Spitfire "update" should be out sometime between the P-51D release and the jets since much of the work for it is actually work on the P-51D modules (just minor changes to link the late Merlin modules to the Spitfire airframe). I'm not sure if it's a T-34C or a T-6 (the original) that's next though on the piston side. I would think the T-6 makes more sense being that it's piston and a trainer for the P-51 and Spitfire.

I'm pretty sure that the F-104 will not be released this year... if it is, a surprise... the F-4... that I would be VERY surprised. We have looked at the systems in this and it's complex... even more, in some ways, than the Eagle E.

I don't know. My understanding is that most of the delay was because of problems with recoding to work with the modular Accusim architecture, but since the P-51 is now in BETA, that signals to me that most of the problems have been worked out, so I would think that development will move along faster since the work remaining on the F-104 and F-4 are code and not visuals.

I've got the F-4 manuals. They are, without a doubt, complicated birds. Very.

anyway... all that said... we looked at this and we decided to not do a RF-4C....

So Colin, you're telling me you can make the flying tennis court (F-15), but can't make a dual J-79 powered brick fly? I'm crushed ... ;-) You were the last great hope for a decent FSX Rhino!

Robin Olds flew both the P-51 and the F-4 in combat.

"The ejection seat on an F-4 is much, much more complicated than an entire P-51"
- Robin Olds

If A2A can Accusim Big Ugly to the same depth as their other fine products, I will tip my hat to them.

Looking forward to the F-15C..will be a beauty. Your Sabre looks great too.
Thanks for your work

paul :-)
