Canopy Shading

Post by Tlwnd » Mon Jun 07, 2021 10:31 pm

Is there any way to lighten the internal canopy view? My view from inside the cockpit seems overly grey, especially in comparison to others shared videos.

It depends who likes what ;). Personally I like it a lot what we have now and dont want to have different effect.
Maybe try to change alpha channel from canopy texture yourself?

You make a good point, but their are too many jagged edges and distracting reflections for me to enjoy it. I’ll go for the alpha channel mod. Thanks for the tip!

Those reflections are from cockpit inside. Its dedicated effect also, maybe arent perfect but its LM case. The same effect you can notice on some high quality addons with True glass.

If you lighten it too much then it may look like there's no glass

My opinion: canopy shading & glass reflection = superB.

Thx. What I noticed from years in Flight simulators we have always two kind of users, one wants to have clean view, the second likes scratech, reflections ect. Its really hard to fit it ;). Personally I like to see „glass” effect but I can understand that not everyone likes it also.

I too would love to have it a little lighter, too dark for me. Unfortunately I have no idea what an alpha channel even is lol. If anyone mods this to make it lighter any chance you could pm me? Lol

It turns out that the interior reflections were the real problem. Even when dynamic reflections were shut off. I ended up swapping out the glass albedo file for another glass file from a previous milviz AC. It looks perfect now ( for me anyway :D )
