Question on engine start

Question:

Installed and tried to take her for a quick spin.
I could not get the engines to spool for start using the buttons in the vc. They are clickspots but don't react on clicks. Following the manual i try to start her, first attaching the huffer or puffer, then start the air starter via the menu bar. Using the menu bar spool entries i have no troubles, but the buttons in vc don't respond. Am I doing something wrong?

The buttons are deliberately not animated due to VC animation count limits. Since they only control the igniters, they won't trigger spoolup.

The start sequence is as follows:
GPU on (Huffer or Puffer)
Signal Air starter on
Signal Engine 2 start
At required RPM click Engine 2 igniter button followed by moving Throttle 2 out of cutoff
Ignition should occur and EGT should rise
Once RPM stabilises, repeat steps 2 to last for engine 1

If you have a thrustmaster warthog, you can assign the igniter buttons to the 2 IGN switches (the forward spring loaded positions) using the MVAMS, and the throttle cutoff positions as well.

I'll have to try this again, I couldn't get it to start either.

MVAMS "Ready to Fly" option doesn't appear to be working (I always seem to have this problem with Milviz products).

Cheers, Rob.

Does the MVAMS setting persist when you save as default and restart the MVAMS? If not, check the run as admin flag. If it does persist...then it is your P3D that needs to be run as admin. I don't know why it would throw a fit about accessing user\appdata\local\mvams though....

Bottom line though, the start process is the same as for the T-38C, sans the glass avionics startup.

Copy that, that works indeed, thanks!

Hello,

I am having difficulty starting this jet. I have followed the sequence indicated but to no avail. I'm running in admin mode. I have even set up joystick button options for the starters and igniters. Not sure what else to add here.

Thanks.
Steve

Hello....

Yes. I have battery, fuel and boost pumps all on.

I will check out the video...Great..thanks..hopefully it will show what I may be doing wrong.

thanks.

Steve

Edit.

I am doing the same start up procedure and still no result. I believe at this point it probably has more to do with some setup of mine. I've reinstalled, disabled virus protectors, run in admin mode, have joysticks in direct input mode so there is smooth throttle movement ..etc. I use chase plane, UT live, Tac Pac, and AS Wx. Maybe there is something there. I'll keep looking.

Edit 2
I changed the startup A/C and that made the difference.

Thanks again.
