PC6 THROTTLE STUCK IN REVERSE THRUST POSITION
Hi,
Throttle will not respond normally to movement of my HOTAS Warthog throttle; there is some very slight jerky movement of the throttle, but it will not move out of Reverse, nor can it be moved with the mouse, however, there is a very slight movement when engaging the F1 and F4 keys, but the throttle will not come out of Reverse; the Condition Lever and Propeller levers work fine;

"Hi Tom,
I think you problem stems from XMLTools not installing correctly.
I spoke to our dev who deals with XMLTools especially about the post you sent. Tomas did in fact end up doing a screen share with the original poster - unfortunately the timing of the posts makes it looks like an unresolved issue.
Generally an XMLTools issue is a relatively easy problem to fix.
Please make sure you have the XMLtools for the sim version you are running enabled during install .
XMLTools.dll will be in the main Prepar3D folder, and there should be an entry in DLL.xml found in AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v{version number}
It should read as follows:
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>XMLTools</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>XMLTools.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>
If not, run the XMLtools installer inside the aircraft folder for the sim in question.
Go to your user's AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v{version number} and check whether DLL.XML is present or not.
If it is not, and you have other users defined in your machine, go to each one's AppData\Roaming folder and check that DLL.XML is present in Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v{version number}.
The correct XMLTools installer for your product will be found either in Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\{your plane}\panel.
If you do not have the XMLTools installer, you may download the P3D 32bit installer here and the P3D v4+ 64bit version here.
If for some this doesn't work, please start a new topic on the Pilatus PC-6 Support Forum and Tomas will come to your aid.
All the best - Osh"
My first download did not follow the download guidelines so I deleted the file and followed all the protocols when downloading the software the second time; I'm running P3Dv4 in Administrator mode.
The dll.xml file is not installed in my copy of P34Dv4.5, so I downloaded the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version and installed it in the root directory, then the aircraft directory and finally in the panel of one version of the PC6 to no avail.
I'm at a loss and feel that I've wasted $40.00; your help would be appreciated.

Hi - can you please reply to this post and copy & paste the contents of your dll.xml file into it?
Could you also search for any other files named dll.xml and let us know their location?

Re: PC6 THROTTLE STUCK IN REVERSE THRUST POSITION
Hi Doddlebug,
Per your request:
DLL.XML LOCATED C:\Users\15309\AppData\Roaming\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\DLL.XML
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="WINDOWS-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document version="1,0" Type="Launch"><Descr>Launch</Descr><Filename>dll.xml</Filename><Disabled>False</Disabled><Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad><Launch.Addon><Name>FSUIPC 5</Name><Disabled>False</Disabled><Path>C:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Modules\FSUIPC5.dll</Path></Launch.Addon></SimBase.Document
Q: Osh included this in his email and although I downloaded the 64bit version I don't know where it is to be placed or how to activate it:

I typed "DLL.XML" in the search bar and this is what came up: "C:\Users\15309\Documents\Location DLL.XML"
Thank you very much for your help!

Re: PC6 THROTTLE STUCK IN REVERSE THRUST POSITION
The xml code you posted doesn't have any reference to XMLtools in it.
Please download the XMLTools installer here:
https://milviz.com/filesfordownload/XML ... taller.zip [corrected]
and unzip it to here:
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_PC-6_Base\panel
Then run it and let us know if it does the trick.

Re: PC6 THROTTLE STUCK IN REVERSE THRUST POSITION
Dodddlebug - I downloaded the file, unzipped it and copied to PC_6\Panel and there is no change in status. Please note that pressing "F4" does move the throttle a slight amount forward and likewise pressing "F1" moves it back an equally small amount; the Prop and Condition levers work as expected.
I really appreciate your help and hope you have further suggestions.

Re: PC6 THROTTLE STUCK IN REVERSE THRUST POSITION
Please excuse if I don't know what you mean by "ran the exe". I downloaded the file and unzipped it per your instructions. Please note that now when I move the HOTAS throttle the throttle in the sim vibrates, but does not move forward or back.
Thanks again for helping me.

My bad for lack of clarity & I sent you the wrong file.
I apologise unreservedly.
This is the correct file: https://milviz.com/filesfordownload/XML ... taller.zip
Please extract to \Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\MV_PC-6_Base\panel
and then double click on the file: XMLTools64Installer.exe to install

Re: PC6 THROTTLE STUCK IN REVERSE THRUST POSITION
Thanks for the correct file; however, I can't extract it to the "PC_6 panel", but I cab place it there and it shows up as "XMLTools64Installer" and under Properties, it is listed as an Application - Double-clicking brings up an hourglass, but nothing opens; this is true also for trying to open as Administrator. I checked to see if anything had changed in the PC 6 cockpit and it has not: The throttle is still in reverse range. I hope you won't give up

You need to unzip the .zip file first...

Re: PC6 THROTTLE STUCK IN REVERSE THRUST POSITION
Bill - thanks for your reply. I've been unzipping the file when first downloaded; the XM file in question is as described and includes what appears to be an image of a tool chest; double-clicking on this file has no effect other than the aforementioned hourglass apprearing for a short time - like it's trying to open - however, it simply won't open. Please keep trying -I really want this to work.
Thanks again,
Zog

Re: PC6 THROTTLE STUCK IN REVERSE THRUST POSITION
maybe it's a permissions problem?
Can you right click on the Installer and select 'run as administrator'?

Doodlebug - I've tried opening as
Administrator - the hourglass appears as if it's considering my request ...then nothing.
I appreciate our help. I know you can crack it!

Can you check you have all the required redistributables:
You can check via control panel > programs & features (see pic)
the one you need is 2017 (x64)

This is what you should see when the file is properly un-zipped:captzog wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2020 11:51 pmBill - thanks for your reply. XMLTools64Installer.exe
Note the .exe at the end.
Right clicking and choosing "Run as Administrator should show this boxed message:

Then you should see this:
