Dear Milviz Team,

your PC-6 user manual states that rudder trim should be 7°right (green mark) for take-off. However, in the instuctional flight posted on your Facebook page, take-off rudder trim is neutral. I found that 7° to the right side is the maximum possible rudder. How should take-off rudder be set?

Hi Michael,

The video was prepared by one of our testers. I don't know his rudder pedals / trim set-up exactly. I'll ask him to comment here. In the meantime, I suggest you go with the manual

The rudder is trimmed full right on the real airplane for takeoff. It will need to be re-trimmed shortly after takeoff. This is to reduce control forces on the real airplane, which are not a factor in the simulator. Therefore, you can easily takeoff with trim in neutral. If the heading changes with the wings level in flight, apply rudder trim as required to maintain heading.

Michael, I was the tester who made the video. This comes down to a typo in the checklist I was using. I simply have "Check Trim is in Green Arc", which in the POM does correspond to 7 degrees right rudder, 0 degrees aileron and -2 to +2 degrees elevator depending on your center of gravity.
