'Adware' when running the PC6

Post by flyblueskies » Tue Jun 11, 2019 1:04 am

When I run P3DV4.5 and use the PC6 (wonderful airplane and I am very happy with it), I get a 'PUP' when running AdwareCleaner.

After cleaning and rebooting, I rerun P3DV4.5 and select the Milviz Comanche. While P3DV4.5 is running, I reran AdwareCleaner and it found nothing.

I then selected the Duke V2 Turbine and while P3DV4.5 is still running, I reran AdwareCleaner and it found nothing.

However, when I selected the Milviz PC6 and while P3DV4.5 is still running, I reran AdwareCleaner and it does find a 'PUP'.

Here is the logfile finding:

***** [ Registry ] *****

Deleted HKCU\SOFTWARE\d49de8bc85dd1ab

I can repeat this many times...and it only happens with the Milviz PC6.

Now, I really do not think this is a 'PUP', but I cannot explain why running the Milviz PC6 writes this to the registry.

I'm hoping someone from Milviz can help me understand...

NOTE: I have no issues running the PC6 in P3DV4.5 at all...I only find the written registry value and it is identified as a 'PUP'.

It looks like this registry value keeps track of the installations or times running the plane.

After multiple AdwareCleaner remove and repairs, I started getting "Your activation is invalid or reached its limit, please contact support" messages when ever I chose the PC6.

I then went back to AdwareCleaner and restored one of the quarantine 'items' and I no longer get the "Your activation is invalid or reached its limit, please contact support" message. The plane now runs OK.
