All works well except if I load WX Radar-Plane crashes sim
I think that I will have to get used to flying without WX Radar-it seems to be a very demanding piece of software !

No -just plain vanilla 4.5
Is this the explanation?
For some reason I cannot upgrade to 4.5 Hotfix 1-a glitch in the matrix where my particular P3D setup is concerned
If so I will live with it for the moment

PS For info Radar works in all my other Milviz Planes

The radar will only work with the correct version. In the porter it will only work with the 4.5 with hotfix when you up date your prepared software you will have to also update the WX for the other Sims otherwise they will crash

Just for info
WX Radar is updated to newest variation for P3D Hot fix
Radar works in all Milviz planes of mine ,DHC2 and 3 and Cessna310 etc except Porter
I still cannot get P3D Hot-fix installed-why?
So minor convenience so far as only one plane-porter-without Radar

Not sure if I fully understand - you are using the latest P3D hotfix v4.5.12.30293?
The patch for the previous iteration of P3D won't work with the PC-6 as the Porter was released after it, and the patch is not coded for it.

Not using latest P3D Hot-fix- will not load for some obscure reason- left using v 29713
All P3D hotfix updates done for WX Radar,Active Sky ,GTN 750 etc
Everything works including WX Radar in all Milviz planes
Only exception is WX Radar in PC Porter- which doesn’t work

did you use the method where you uninstall the LM client using Control Panel / Programs and Features, choosing not to deactivate the product at the prompt, and then install the new client only?

Yes and also even tried to install after using deactivating option (having noted on various boards that a proper hotfix installation involved reactivation)
This was in fact the first intimation to me that hotfix installation was not proceeding as it should ie that reactivation was not demanded by the hotfix installation
