No Battery or Gyro Sounds
Greetings,
Getting back into the C310R in anticipation of the update, I noticed I do not have any battery, gyro or fan sounds as described by Ken Stallings and N4GIX (Bill) almost four years ago. The partial message below from N4GIX in May 2013 are the sounds I'm not receiving. I located the files as described below and also located same in C310 Milviz panel C310_Sounds. However the same files are not located in the aircraft sound folder. I have installed v1.160726.
From N4GIX - May 2013:
For the sake of complete information, that is indeed the gyro spin up and running sounds as well as the avionics cooling fan you hear.
There are six sound files used, located in the ..\FSX\Sound\MilViz folder. They are:
SND10 Master Battery On
SND11 Master Battery Loop
SND12 Master Battery Off
SND13 Avionics On
SND14 Avionics Loop
SND15 Avionics Off
Many thanks for any help / Les Parson

Those sound files should only be in the custom folder, never in the aircraft's ..\Sounds folder.
Silly question possibly, but is the master battery switch turned on?

Re: No Battery or Gyro Sounds
I picked up the Sky Song Sound Pack for the C310 and that seems to fix the issue.

Hi Scott,
I like it. I haven't yet done a complete flight with it yet, but plan to tomorrow morning. I was mostly interested in battery, gyros and fans noises that I wasn't getting with the stock audio pack for reasons still unexplained. The Sky Song C310R audio set corrected that problem. I did start the engines and they sounded good. I can provide a more complete PIREP sometime tomorrow if you like.

Re: No Battery or Gyro Sounds
I still can't get battery start-up and gyro with the stock Milviz sound. I've reloaded the latest update 1.106726 (I think) multiple times. By default, there is a 'C310R_sound' folder in the generic panel folder. Can you tell me where the custom folder is located? The battery start-up and gyro sounds only work in the 'free radio' option. I'm confused.N4GIX wrote:Those sound files should only be in the custom folder, never in the aircraft's ..\Sounds folder.

The "custom sounds folder" should be in the main (generic?) panel folder and is named "..\C310R_Sounds" as you've noted.Les Parson wrote:I still can't get battery start-up and gyro with the stock Milviz sound. The sound module is called for by this entry in all panel.cfg files:
Code: Select all
gauge00=Milviz_Sound!FBGS_XMLSound, 0,0,1,1,SimObjects\\Airplanes\\Cessna 310R MilViz\\panel\\C310R_Sounds#22

Re: No Battery or Gyro Sounds
I double and triple checked everything, confirmed the custom panel folder and located the code below in the first line in the first VC section of each panel option:
gauge00=Milviz_Sound!FBGS_XMLSound, 0,0,1,1,SimObjects\\Airplanes\\Cessna 310R MilViz\\panel\\C310R_Sounds#22
Alas, nothing changed with the battery and gyro sounds only heard with the free-radio selection. I'm confident it will eventually be sorted out.
Thanks for the attention.

A new build will be prepared , in the meantime if you add the following to
[Vcockpit01]
gauge00=..\panel\Milviz_Sound!FBGS_XMLSound, 0,0,1,1,SimObjects\\Airplanes\\Cessna 310R MilViz\\panel\\C310R_Sounds#22
The sounds will return!

Sorry but don't work for me (GTN750_GNS430). I tried in the panel.cfg in the panel folder and/or in the panel.cfg in the panel.GTN750_GNS430 folder. No way...Have I missed something ?
Thank you and Regards,
Richard
