Preflight (Shift+7) not working
I have the latest installer and have downloaded it by stopping firewall/AV.
Did a fresh uninstall/reinstall of the C310
Run P3D as Administrator
Disabled UAC
I have Windows 10
P3D V2
GTN 750
When I load ANY variant of the C310 it is chocked and covers installed. I can hit Shift+7 all I like and no preflight menus come up. I had seen where you should also be able to go into the "views" menu and select cockpit to get it to open, but no joy there either.
It really doesn't work too well with chocks and covers installed. Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks

Try shift 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.

Those all work, just not the 7

That simply shouldn't be happening (or not happening in this case)...danerazz wrote:Those all work, just not the 7
The "Preflight" gauge is a simple XML script that is in the C310_XMLGauges.CAB file. If all of the 2d popup gauges are loading, there's no reason this one should not load as well.
Check your panel.cfg file(s) to be certain that the Window06 is still listed at the top:
Code: Select all
[Window Titles]
Window00=Main Panel
Window01=GPS
Window02=Throttle
Window03=Copilot
Window04=Engine Panel
Window05=Electrical Panel
Window06=C310 Preflight
Code: Select all
//--------------------------------------------------------
[Window06]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=500,243
window_size_ratio=1.000
position=0
visible=0
ident=70
window_size= 0.400, 0.324
window_pos= 0.000, 0.040
gauge00=C310_XMLGauges!C310_Preflight, 0,0,500,243

Re: Preflight (Shift+7) not working
Okay, I checked the files and all of the CFG text is as it should be, but what I did find is the panel.cfg references "C310_XMLGauges!#####", but the .CAB file I have in the gauges folder is "C310_P3dV2_XMLGauges.CAB". I also noticed that I was only checking to see if the 2D panels would come up at all, I didn't look to see if they were "complete" to actually include the functioning gauges; I actually was just getting blank panels without gauges. I had to edit the panel.cfg to reference the actual .CAB (though in retrospect I could have just renamed the .CAB) and it now works. Thanks for explaining how the XML panels should have worked, that pointed me to the problem.
On a side note, this seems like it is an issue with the installer, as the referenced files are not the correct name when I installed into P3Dv2. I shouldn't have had to go renaming stuff to get everything working.
Thanks again!
Dane

Dane, that issue has been fixed in the latest installer build, among a few other minor 'gottchas' that somehow got missed during beta testing the newest added features. Actually, we no longer have a P3D version of the gauge, but use the same one for all versions.danerazz wrote:On a side note, this seems like it is an issue with the installer, as the referenced files are not the correct name when I installed into P3Dv2. In any case I'm delighted that you managed to find the error and repair it. Good job!

I had checked the installer version and thought I had the latest, but I guess I didn't. Anyway, works great now, and thanks for the help.

Re: Preflight (Shift+7) not working
Just wanted to tell you that when I installed the latest update of the 310, the panel.cfg files were missing the preflight script as you described above. Since I have had a problem with this before, I was able to copy/paste the correct info into the files and it works fine now. I don't know if this was an error or something else changed with this update, but it seems like an omission, or I may be the only one having this problem indicating I am doing something wrong during installation.

Re: Preflight (Shift+7) not working
I believe the latest installer does not have the pre-flight option in Shift 6 or 7 as is now integrated in the MVAMS

I see, I didn't realize that was an in-game option in the menu. Well, now I have it available both ways. I must have missed the MVAMS in the documentation.

It's tucked away on p.116 of the manual.

Re: Preflight (Shift+7) not working
I just moved over to P3D and installed the latest version (Win7 64, P3D 3.4.14.18870).
Is there a way to anymore to remove the chocks and covers before start up? Or, once set are they always going to show when on the ground? They show up once in contact with the ground during rollout, taxi, etc.
Thank you.
Joe L.

Joe, the answer is just above you post:JPL19 wrote:Is there a way to anymore to remove the chocks and covers before start up? Or, once set are they always going to show when on the ground? They show up once in contact with the ground during rollout, taxi, etc.
Look on the top tool bar in FSX/P3D and use the drop down menu to control the preflight options. The popup gauge is no longer used.It's tucked away on p.116 of the manual.

Re: Preflight (Shift+7) not working
Bill,
Sorry, but I did see that, but, are you saying once that option is chosen it stays that way regardless of parking brake or engine status? Changing the cfg program while in sim made no difference. If that is the case, why would anyone opt to use them unless your sim session involved staying in one place? Sorry if I am misunderstanding the usage.
Thanks for your reply.
