I'm absolutely delighted that you gave this a final try and were successful! Other team members and I spent many hundreds of hours developing this wonderful aircraft. It is among my personal favorites. 8-)

It is one of mine, as well. I did my multi-engine training on a "Q" model, and have perhaps 200 hours total time in the 310. The model is very realistic and is wonderful for short cross-country instrument flights and staying current with approach procedures - especially now that I have a GTN 750 on board. :D
