How do I get rid of the tip tanks, MVAMS doesn't do it?

thanks, Randy

There is a "Misc" section within the Twinkies's MVAMS--Under Misc is the option for tip tanks--left unchecked, you should not have the tip tank option. Does this not work for you?

I just unchecked the wing tip tank option--saved that change. Tried a test flight and my Twinkie was without tip tanks. Did you make sure you "saved" any changes? If you did all of that and still cannot get your tip tanks removed , then hopefully you can get help from one of the Milviz staff.

Hi Ray, try it with "Default WX" selected as GPS Variant in MVAMS and see what happens. I found two click spots to toggle the tanks on/off, the wing tips and bottom of the thermometer but there is always gas in them.

Just finished a short flight in the Twinkie. Used the click spots you previously mentioned to eliminate the tip tanks. While in flight, I changed the fuel selector from main to aux tank--without tip tanks. Engines still ran--switched the left fuel selector to off--left engine did quit. Seems like this could be a "bug"??? I am using P3D 3.4xx and had the modern version of the cockpit selected with the GTN 750\650. I hope Bill will read this and respond as I believe he is the gauge programmer for this aircraft.

I believe the tip tanks are only for show. They are not functional and do not affect the fuel supply, unlike the C310R.

The tip tanks are eyecandy only. The tip tanks do not replace the normal wing's aux bladder tanks, they supplement them. That is why when you switched to the Aux tank(s) the engines continued to run...

Thanks Bill, there is a bug in MVAMS when "Default WX" is selected and NO tip tanks they still always show up, also I always have the auto pilot selected.
