Ice and loss of engine power

Post by BrianV » Sat Mar 09, 2019 9:58 am

I seem only to be able to regain power in cold icy weather with pressing the H key. Should the fuel heater not do the same? Any advice, much appreciated.

New here and just spotted this post. FWIW, the H key shouldn't do anything, since the engines are not carburated, and that's the carb heat key. The Piper POH does say that "induction system" icing is possible, the cure for which is to select Alternate Air with the knobs under the cowl flap controls.
