Gear extension

Post by wgsheridan » Thu Nov 22, 2018 1:16 am

I have noticed that the PA-30 tends to consistently balloon upwards somewhat when I extend the landing gear, similar to what is sometimes seen in many aircraft when the flaps are extended. Although I have never flown a Twin Comanche in real life, I did my twin rating on the Aztec and never noticed that particular aircraft gaining height when the gear was extended so I’m curious to know if this is a peculiar feature of the PA-30?

This was intentional, based on a flight test report.

Interesting and a little unusual I think! Thank you.
