Landing Lights
Using P3D V4.3.
Noticed landing lights show as a series of white balls looking from both inside the VC and outside of aircraft. They illuminate the ground properly but just look funny.
Thanks,

Re: Landing Lights
Those 'fuzzy balls of light' are secondary to the actual landing lights, which use the default P3Dv4.3 "dynamic lights."

Re: Landing Lights
Ok, thanks. So how do I make the lights look like my other aircrafts' lights?

Re: Landing Lights
Well, you could remove these .fx files from the ..\Effects folder. I guess I just don't understand the issue, since these effects are very similar to those in the payware package "Shockwave" that many people pay extra for...

Here is an example of the Shockwave light effects:

Re: Landing Lights
To clarify...the issue is Realism in the simulation. I looked at your picture of the Shockwave light effect (which is great)...and what I'm seeing is not anything like that. I've attached a screen shot of what I see...looks the same from inside the VC.
Thanks,
Note that what I see is very distinct fuzzy balls of light...not at all what I see in your picture of the Shockwave Light Effect. Thanks,

Re: Landing Lights
These effects have been used for the past ten years or thereabouts. No one has ever mentioned them until this last Saturday. Perhaps I'll find a better way one day when I have some time.

The only choice here is to remove them entirely... Your call.

Re: Landing Lights
II would vote for at least an option to remove the effect. They are also visible during the day. You would only see this type of effect in very low visibility at night. And by effect, I just mean seeing the beams of light....the balls of light are a bit strange. Is that a file we can remove or is that built into the model?

Re: Landing Lights
As N4GIX said a few posts up, these can be removed. You will find them here:Flic1 wrote:Is that a file we can remove or is that built into the model?

Re: Landing Lights
I love options.
Works great to just add a ".off" extension to the .fx files that Bill listed. The effect is gone and no black boxes/triangles.
Thanks all.
