Unable to start engines
Hi,
I just bought the twin comanche and first of all I must say it's a beautiful plane. It flies very smoothly and the modeling is one of the best I've seen in a GA aircraft.
The problem that I am facing is that I can't start the engines! I could only fly it by starting it with the engines running. I follow the procedure as in the manual but when I click the starter for either engine, the propeller spins for 1-2 seconds and then stops. Of course I have checked that there is fuel and both fuel selectors are set to Main. Another thing that does not seem right is that when I release the starter and it springs returns to the 'Off' position, the other engine spins for 1-2 seconds too. So when the switch returns to the Off position the other engine's starter activates. In any case, I am unable to start any engine.
Lastly, one texture complain I have is that the NAV lights have unrealistic spikes around them. I think it would be better to have a uniform glow, in the direction of the lamps.
I'd be glad for any help.

Re: Unable to start engines
Try using Ctrl-E to autostart the engines to see if they run. Alternatively, use MVAMS to disable the Cold and Dark. Either way, you can use the mixture controls to stop the engines, then restart them manually.
The red/green/white nav lights are using slightly tweaked default .fx files.

Re: Unable to start engines
Hello,
I tried Ctrl-E and the same happens. The only difference is that in that case the starter does not stop, it continues running the propeller as long as I press the binding, but the engine can't start. Is this a bug? Even when I disabled the Cold and Dark option and the plane loaded with engines running, as long as I cut the mixture and tried to restart them, I was still unable. I expect for a detailed simulation like to be able to start the engines as per normal procedures.

binding? What binding? Did you try not using a controller?

Re: Unable to start engines
No, not binding. I meant the Ctrl-E keyboard combination.

Crtl E won't work. Use the manual

Re: Unable to start engines
But as I said on my first post, I followed the manual and the engines won't start. Here is what I do:
Master: On
Check fuel gauges: Max fuel
Fuel selectors: Both on Main
Magnetos: All four switches to On
Electric fuel pumps: Both on
Mixture lever: Max
Prop lever: Max
Throttle lever: 1/2 inch
click and hold starter (right or left engine)
Result: Propeller turns for 1-2 seconds, then it stops. The engine won't start.
Can you confirm that in your case, you can do the same steps and the engine starts?

Is this in P3D 3.4? Can you see if you have a duplicated xmltools entry in your DLL file?

Re: Unable to start engines
It is P3D v4.3 (latest). I checked and I can only see one xmltools entry inside the dll.xml. It is as follows:
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>XMLTools64</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>XMLTools64.dll</Path>
<DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName>
<DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName>
</Launch.Addon>

Re: Unable to start engines
Yes, always. To be 100%, I just redownloaded the installer, did a full uninstall, restart Windows and re-install. Same story..engines won't start.
Also, something should be wrong with the Cold & Start state. Even if I have the Cold and Start option enabled, the plane starts with the master switch to on, position and beacon lights on.

Re: Unable to start engines
I had this happen to me tonight. If the airplane is parked too close to the fuel pumps, the engines won't start. Slew the airplane away from the fuel pumps and the engines will start.

Re: Unable to start engines
Thanks for the video YoYo, but still the engines don't start here. Default P3D location, but tried many others too. I see in your video you don't use the mouse to turn the switches. I'm really frustrated at this point, after having spent 40$ and can't do a proper flight. What is the way to get support by looking at what is happening at my system?
