Re: Unable to start engines
I would also like to ask if by setting the starter torque to 6, I break any realism built in the plane. In the product page it states 'realistic startups and shutdowns' . Does this mean that for example temperature/pressure, current engine temperature, fuel priming is taken into account for engine start. Do the electric fuel pumps serve a perpose in the sim for engine start? Or will the engine start all the times the same way. Sorry for the many questions, but because this add-on is a realistic simulation of the PA-30 I would like to know what happens after I tweak that value to the model.

Re: Unable to start engines
It should be fine... though, honestly, it's a wonder that you weren't able to start it normally.

Re: Unable to start engines
Using the original starter torque value of 5, the engines do not start for me, manual following the checklist, or Ctrl-E auto start.
The engine does not turn fast enough it seems.
On ather airlpalnes with similar engines the starter torque is 0.8.
With this value the engine turns at approx half speed on the starter, and does not start.
I did not modify anything else.
I do not know what else it changes, but it works for me, and the engine operates normal after staring, and in flight
I use P3D v 4.3
I also have FSUIPC5, Version 5.132 installed.

Re: Unable to start engines
In all of the hundreds of starts while developing the Twinkie, not once have had had the fuel pumps on when starting. I only turn them on just prior to takeoff as part of my checklist.
I am delighted that you've found a 'solution' of sorts that works for you. I've been out of my office for most of the day, first to say mass for a nursing care facility, and then to help a fellow amateur radio operator tune up and get a large antenna ready for installation, then back to my house to raise up a dipole antenna for my HF radio.

Thank you for the reply N4GIX. Radio operator is certainly a very interesting hobby, which can teach a lot I'm sure

Re: Unable to start engines
Just for the record, I too had that same problem--I could not start the engines on the Twinkie. I followed the checklists as per manual. I downloaded and installed the PA 30 with my antivirus off. I have P3D v. 3.4xx and run it as Administrator. When I tried to start the engines, I was located at Pearson Airport (Orbx) at a parking ramp. I will make the suggested change and hope this works okay for me as well. Thanks.

Thanks! I now have success in starting the engines; am really enjoying this aircraft. It brings back memories of 50 yrs. ago earning my multi-engine rating in the Twin Comanche.

With the latest update installed, the engines start always, without changes in the cfg file.
Thanx Milviz for this wonderfull flying machine, but I still fly by hand all the time as it is good fun.
