Switch guards functionality
Hi, to my understanding, when closing aswitch guard you force the switch to be in the down position (in a vertical panel)
Now this seem to work for the stater switch but not for the ignition nor the heater switch. Both stay in the up position while the guard is closed.
Futher the heater lamp should be on when the heater is off?

Re: Switch guards functionality
Hi,
Those guards support switch multi positions; they actually prevent unintentional operation of the switches. Starter indeed turns off when guard is down, but only as a simplified method in case the pilot forgot to switch it off.
And yes, heater lamp must be on when heater is off, because heater must be on in flight.

Re: Switch guards functionality
But are all those three switches are identical in function and should work like the left one? Or are they really different?

Re: Switch guards functionality
Switches positions might not agree. For example, starter will be ON only during engine start, Ignition switch must be On during engine start and may be off aferwards, or ON in flight depending on current conditions, and Heater should be On before take off.
