Observation on TrueGlass and RealLight

I have installed the optional TFDI features and observe the following:
The Otter does not even have wipers and the prop is good enough to blow away raindrops. In P3Dv4.3 I see raindrops dripping downwards when engine is running and even during take-off and landing up to 80 mph raindrops creep in direction of airflow but als vertically down. This is my first aircraft with those add-ons so I wonder if that is an issue of TFDI or a configuration fitting the Otter?

When switching on the landing lights at dawn or night, only then my frames drop from the external limited 30 FPS to below 15 FPS. Is this an issue of the used textures?

Appreciate experience from others or the dev team.

Checking further I saw that in the .xml for the lights, the landing lights are not mentioned. Maybe RealLight is not used for them??? Maybe someone could clarify?

RealLights only affects the instruments and the interior of the virtual cockpit.

The landing lights are dynamic lights in P3D v4 which are known to have a framerate impact under some circumstances.

Thank you Jonathan,
I was hoping that P3DV4.3 is less sensitive to using dynamic lightning. Any chance for a replacement to avoid that drop?

Doubtful.

We'd have to have different types of landing lights per sim.

There is one - and only one - fx_landing.fx file for landing and taxi lights. It is shared by all aircraft in the sim, both user flown and AI. The way that L-M has implemented "dynamic lights" leaves the choice up to the user to either have all lighting "dynamic" or all lighting "legacy."

I did a couple of more test situations and used your C310R, DHC-2 and DHC-3T. While on default scenery I see no drop, I have a noticable drop primarily with the Otter. But it seems to depend on the scenery and reflective surfaces the aircraft is pointing too. And the Otter maybe a bit more demanding but I don't see that with landing lights off due to the max locked 30 fps.

Thank you for your comments and background.
