Short question about the Torque Indicator
Hey there,
I have a short question about the torque gauge. Is it normal that the needle is „junping“ in flight? I have the feeling that the engine is stuttering, especially after take off?!
I do the start up by check list, engine starts well, while taking off I watch not to overtorque but still the same problem.
I did a bad start one time with itt way too, engine was running really bad and blowing up while takeoff.
Besides that I‘m pretty sure I‘m doing everything right so I‘m just asking if that‘s the way it should be.
Thanks a lot, Florian

Re: Short question about the Torque Indicator
Hi,
A bit of stutter (barely noticeable when watching the gauge very close) is normal.
However, I believe you are suffering from controller's noise and that will make the stutter very noticeable.
I recommend you to adjust the power lever's friction knob to a value of ~ 55 and see if that helps.
As for keeping the engine in good health, at startup:
-Don't forget to switch IGNITION on before engaging the starter.
-NEVER add fuel before N1 reaches at least 15-18 %.
-Do not cut the starter until engine stabilizes above 50 % N1. (Try doing it at 25-30 % and see what happens-engage it back before overtemp!)
