Cannot take-off with Float Version

Post by VancouverNigel » Sat Aug 25, 2018 5:27 pm

I purchased and successfully installed the Milviz DHC3 Turbine.

However I cannot get the float version to get up above 60mph, it takes off for a few feet then stalls back to the water. I have no trouble starting the aircraft following the manual instructions. Power, Propeller and Conditioner levers are full on. Flaps one notch.

With the same start-up procedures in the wheeled version, I have no trouble picking up speed through 60 to 80 or 90 well into the climb.

I am in P3D4 and my system: INTEL I7 920 o/c 4.0MHz; GTX1070 8GB; 6Gb RAM 1600mhZ; 500GB ssd; 1TB ssd; 2x 1TB HDD RAID1 (backup); 700w psu; Windows10 64bit.

I have performed all the trouble shooting requirements, and my system and installation appear to be in order, And I have re-downloaded and installed with anti-virus turned off.

You’re maxing out the power and killing the engine.

Read the manual.

Hi Krazycolin

No success. Re-read the manual and followed the instructions. No problems with the wheeled version, get up to speed easily. But the floats version will only get up to 60. Torque reaches 30 and ITT 60. Anything to do with friction of floats on water? Any other ideas.

Hi Nigel,

Do you have the Ignition switch on for the take-off and landing?
I missed that at first.

Hi,
If you can’t obtain a greater than 30 psi torque it’s a sign that you have both Fuel Pump switches in OFF position. At least one pump must be ON in all phases of flight.
