Condition Lever Function?

Post by Flyfox » Fri Jul 13, 2018 9:45 am

This Otter is definitely looking promising! However, it currently seems to be in a Beta state rather than thoroughly tested. Apart from the problems with the load manager, the weather radar, the GTN integration and occasional CTDs I noticed that the condition lever has no effect at all if moved from idle to flight position. Either the fuction is not modelled (which would be a pity) or it is not (yet) connected to the condition lever position.

Is there any chance of a patch or a new version soon?

My system: FSX-SE on a Windows 10 installation

Re: Fuel Selector and Condition Lever Malfunction

The manual is pretty clear on the function of both the fuel switch;

"The fuel controls, and their operation, are changed
significantly. Although the fuel tanks and tank capacities
are unchanged from the original DHC-3
configuration, the routing of fuel lines and the
flow of fuel to the engine has been changed. Fuel
to the engine is supplied from the aft center fuel
tank only. Fuel in the forward center tank flows
through a check valve to the aft center tank via an
interconnect line. Fuel in the forward or aft tanks
is available only by means of transfer from either
of these tanks to the center fuel tank. The function
of the Fuel Selector Handle on the instrument
panel is changed from selecting which fuel tank
feeds the engine to which fuel tank will transfer to
the center tank. It is in the OFF position for normal
operation - until one desires to transfer fuel."

Can you explain what your issue with the condition lever is though?

Sorry, I just edited my first post after finding more info about the fuel selector, before I noticed your reply. Thanks for your profound explanation!

Regarding the condition lever: I would at least expect a certain change in torque when moving it from idle to flight. Otherwise, there would be no meaning in having two positions at all. Currently, the condition lever seems to have no effect at all.

Hi,

The condition lever in this aircraft, like in the real one, is a two positions only : FUEL OFF- FUEL ON. See the placards in the console (CUT OFF-RUN)
Moving the lever beyond RUN position has no effect.

If you watch videos of any Harbour Air flights you will notice they leave the condition lever against the red stop for the entire flight
