Evening,

Just upgraded my hard drives on my current computer. On my previous build, my MilViz DHC-3 worked fantastically.

After reinstalling P3DV4 (4.3) on my new dedicated SSD, I reinstalled my favorite Milviz DHC-3 Otter. Sadly it will not start, internal lights won't work, most gauges don't seem to work, and none of the XML sounds seem to work.

As this is likely an XML issue. I've included several pics to address the current situation.

This is perhaps my favorite GA aircraft and I'm looking forward to purchasing the Turbo once I resolve this nagging issue.

Did you temporarily disable your anti-virus program during the download process?:

Before installing did you disable UAC. (User Account Control)?:

Did you install, and are you running the sim as an admin?:

Before running the sim did you make sure the FSX/P3D directory is off limits to any AV scanning?:

Does your system have the required distributables?:
YES
Is your video card DX11 compatible?:
YES
If applicable, did disable any FSX to P3D migration tools (like Estonia) before running the sim?:

Are you using an aircraft other than a Milviz one as your default aircraft?:
YES
Do you have the appropriate SimConnect libraries installed?:
YES

Sim platform: Prepar3D V4.3
Operating system: Win10
Version: 171229

Hi, The first thing I see is that your dll.xml points to XMLTools.dll (which is not made for p3dv4) and not to XMLTools64.dll as expected. Please update your file with correct entry, changing line 26:

<Path>XMLTools.dll</Path>

to:

<Path>XMLTools64.dll</Path>

If this is a fresh Windows installation, also please make sure that you have required Microsoft VC++ 2010 redistributables (both 32 and 64 bit). Please use only official Microsoft links to download them if needed (check if listed at Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features)

Thank you. The edit to the XMLTools.dll was the trick.

For whatever reason, I had to manually add that addition to my dll.xml despite what appeared to be a successful install. The example I used from your forums must have been for FSX so I did not capture the "64" requirement for P3Dv4.

Works great! Thanks for the quick response. Will the DHC-3 Otter get True-Glass and Real Light like the Turbo?
