Re: GTN and Autopilot
Bernd,
I flew an ILS approach to EDDF runway 07L, and AP did the job without any problem.
First of all, ILS freq for 07L is 110.10, not 111.75.
The following images reproduce critical moments of the approach.
Hope this helps,
Tomas

Re: GTN and Autopilot
Thank you for your trouble Tomas, sorry that I am so late, I was traveling over Christmas.
Unfortunately, the above problem does not only exist directly at the ''Aerosoft Airport Frankfurt 2.0'', but also on any other airports with ILS. In addition, the landing frequency for Frankfurt Rwy 7L (111.75) of Aerosoft is given, also this frequency in the charts, such as specified by Navigraph with 111.75, which I also with any other arbitrary plane except land normally, except just the DHC 3 Otter Unfortunately not!
The P3D v4 indicates in its own map the frequency for Runway 7L with 110, 30 and they say I should use 110.10 for Runway 7L?! ..., no matter, the DHC 3 plane can not a decent ILS, that's it Problem, I am doing a short video tonight without a full length video clip so you can understand me better.
I also add a few screenshots from the charts below.
Thank you very much for your special effort !!
Best regards Bernd

Re: GTN and Autopilot
Try using what the P3D map says. It says 110.30 so maybe Tomas was using a different scenery which used 110.10.

Re: GTN and Autopilot
I see, they do not understand me .... They always go from the same airport, but the problem does not work on other airports in the ILS

Re: GTN and Autopilot
Bernd,
It doesn´t matter which ILS frequency is used.
What´s happening is that you are wrongly configuring the autopilot for an ILS approach.
Please check the images I posted, read the captions, and then read the KAP140 manual, especially regarding APR mode.
This KAP unit works different than standard FS autopilots and, like the real one, can be a nightmare for those pilots who don't get it properly.
BTW, some things that are not in the manual and you need to know:
-With the AP in NAV mode, either flying a GPS route, a VOR radial or an ILS localizer, if you change the source of the NAV signal -for example go from GPS to VLOC, or ILS, or viceversa- NAV is cancelled and lateral mode reverts to HDG or ROL. After that you need to press NAV again to arm the capture for the new signal.
-This unit is very sensitive to G loads; it will disconnect as soon as either one or both roll/pitch tolerances are exceeded, particulary in sudden, short and/or shaking turbulence.
Hope this helps.

Re: GTN and Autopilot
Tomas,
I understand, but if there is no turbulence then what?
If you like, I'll make you a video without a cut, as you can see that your plane can not handle a proper ILS.
Otherwise we just let it and I fly this plane only in good weather.

Re: GTN and Autopilot
Bernd,
Do you understand what I'm telling you? The AP works perfect, but you need to know HOW it works.
You are not doing things right, so the KA won't make any ILS approach because of that, ever.
Again, read the manual.
I've done my best so far, sorry. I can't help you anymore if you don't do that simple task first...(read the manual)

Re: GTN and Autopilot
After several readings of the manual and several test flights, I finally found out how the machine lands ILS, thank you for your effort, if you want, you can delete the topic.
I am ashamed, best regards to the patient team

Bernd,
No problem. I'm glad that you finally figured it out.
Happy New Year!
