Glass and Propdisc issues P3Dv4

Post by McGoose » Thu Nov 30, 2017 10:56 am

Hi there,

I'm having glass and propdisc issues in foggy weather.

This affects both Otter and Beaver, but no other default or addon plane I use.

Don't know if your other props are affected as well as I don' thave them.

Anything I can do about this?

Thank you very much.

The props no. The windows. Yes. I think so...

What Sim ? , any addon wheather program at play here ? DX 9 or 10 ? , Steves Fixer , Shader modifications maybe?

I cannot replicate the issue in FSXA DX9 / DX10 or P3Dv4 without ancillary software

Sorry, it's P3Dv4 with
- REX Texture Direct Ehanced with Soft Clouds (32 bit textures + DX11/DX10)
- Active Sky P3Dv4 (default settings)

No other mods.

Does this happen without those packages?

I have to suspect that softclouds did it , in V4 default fog 1/16 of a mile visibility there was no such issue visible . hopefully one only sees this below minimums in your sim and it disappears when flight conditions return.

Right, I've tried the sim with and without AS4 and/or REX textures, but the issue remains.

I ended up doing a complete reinstall (which was due anyway) including deleting all folders in Program Data/Local/Roaming etc. and regedit entries.

I have installed vanilla P3Dv4 only with Otter and Beaver, but the issue is still there.
Visibility was 1/16 mile and by increasing it the problem gradually vanishes.

Looks like the default planes also have the glass issue, so it affects any plane:

Here are some other planes in the same scenario without the prop issue:

Yah... so we can’t fix this. Sorry. It’s a bug in fsx/p3d
