Bombing
I have been giving the F-4J a workout on the bombing range and have noticed some issues
I don't get bomb detonation if I set the fuse switch to Nose and tail, setting it to Nose does work.
I get hung ordinance. Using today as an example: carrying 12 Mk 82s on the outboard and 6 Mk82 SE on the inboard I set the Weapons Select to Ripple Bombs and the Station Select to outboard Wing.
On my first pass all the outboards left the aircraft except two bombs on the right pylon. a second pass, also on Ripple released one bomb, leaving one Mk-82 that I could not release.
I then switched to Inboard Ripple and 5 of the 6 Mk-82SE bombs came off. I made another pass in ripple without any bomb release.
I switched to All on the station select and still nothing departed the aircraft.
So I ended the flight with one Mk82 on the right outboard pylon and one Mk82SE on the right inboard pylon.
All passes were using CRV mode. I got the pull up light on all passes, even ones where nothing would come off the jet.
If I am doing something wrong, I sure can't figure out what.
Any thoughts?

That will solve the fusing problem.
Regarding the hung stores, this is a problem which I never really could figure out. The only solution I was able to do was set up something to reset the TACPACK station management by changing the station select knob on the dog bone to some other station and then back. Try that.

Re: Bombing
Thanks for the response Jonathan. I duplicated yesterdays flight after pasting the items in the panel folder.
I still got no detonation when using nose tail. I want to try some more with the missile arm on and off. Not really a big deal to me though.
The first pass with outboard ripple released all 12 bombs from the outboard stations.
The second pass released 4 of the 6 bombs on the inboard stations, leaving two on the right.
I selected both outboard and center line stations, following up with an inboard pass after each.
I tried a manual bombing pass.
Nothing released the hung bombs.
I will keep trying and let you know how it goes.
If you have any other ideas that you would like me to try, let me know.
Thanks for sticking with this, you guys really have something remarkable with this product.

Re: Bombing
You pasted it in both your J and S panel folders?
Also if you drop Snakeyes with nose tail selected, do they drop in high drag mode?

Re: Bombing
Yes Sir, I pasted the xml files
awru
fcs stick
ms mc
and wc
in both the S and J panel folders
Nothing was over written so I assume they were all new.
The results of today's test were all bombs released.
with the missile arm on I got no detonations
with it off I got detonations.

Re: Bombing
Erm...the cab file was supposed to be placed in the panel folder, not the individual xml files. That's why you aren't seeing any changes. It was supposed to overwrite the cab file that was already there.

Re: Bombing
Ahhhhhhh! I've been ....Erm'ed!
Done and that did work for the Nose Tail arming.
Snake eyes did go in high drag mode with Nose Tail.
Bomb departure results similar to my first post except I ended up with two slicks and one SE hung.
I did notice the bomb crater ripple pattern for the 12 slicks there was the first bomb then a gap then the other 9 craters,
As if that is where the other two would have been, though I would not have thought they would have been adjacent on the same MER as they ended up stuck.

Re: Bombing
You tried cycling the station selection again with the new files to drop the hung store?

Re: Bombing
I switched from outboard to inboard after 2 passes trying to get the remaining two off. once I made two passes with the inboard with one hung up I switched back to outboard and tried that station again without effect.
ie outboard inboard outboard
ie outboard inboard outboard

Re: Bombing
I was wondering how it is going regarding this issue.
Also I have not gotten the F-4E advanced yet, I was also wondering if the E has the same issue.
Thanks, WG

Re: Bombing
Do you have the latest versions? I just ran a test and found it impossible to get the hung stores again.
The E may or may not have the same problem, but it is more easily resolved by changing bombing modes and selected stations.

Re: Bombing
I just updated it and it now appears I have no advanced features, I have used up my daily ration of patience, I will try again tomorrow
Thanks for the quick response. WG

Re: Bombing
You have to run the AMS twice, first to install the base package, then to install the ADV.
