MVAM - "ready to fly" doesn't seem to do anything P3D V4.2

Post by robains » Sun Mar 25, 2018 8:13 pm

I've tested "Read to Fly" vs. "Cold and Dark" option in MVAM and neither seems to actually work or do anything. I tested with a variety of conditions with setting Default aircraft to MV, manually setup/assigned with engines running and ready to "Fly" but if I set Cold and Dark, load P3D V4, select MV aircraft and my aircraft is still running with engines on etc. Same issue if I setup engines off and in cold and dark state, save as default, exit P3D. Load MVAM, set state to "Ready to Fly", run P3D, select MV aircraft, and it will be in cold and dark state.

So it doesn't seem to matter what I select in MVAM for aircraft "state" it will ALWAYS be overridden by whatever the "default" is set in P3D V4.

Thoughts?

Cheers, Rob.

Run the MVAMS as an admin.

Hi Colin,

Yes, I had tried using "Run As Admin" and not using "Run As Admin" ... unfortunately the results are the same.

Cheers, Rob.

I've tried with the following:

Bell 407
DHC-2
DHC-3
MD530
T-50

Ready to Fly state doesn't work with any of them.

I have the T-38A and Cessena 310R installed also, but these don't have an option for "Ready To Fly".

Cheers, Rob.

That is a curious error , can you tell us what the last aircraft you installed was?

Did I gather from the comment about it being a Default C&D saved flight that if you set up a default flight with engines running the MVAMS will run RTF & C&D normally ?

If after loading a new scenario with a MV aircraft and at no point loading a default flight is the error still happening ?

Best Regards
C Jodry

The last recently updated MV aircraft was B55 (which does not appear to be MVAM aware). The last most recent aircraft was the FSL A320.

No, whatever the default flight state is will take precedence.
If after loading a new scenario with a MV aircraft and at no point loading a default flight is the error still happening ?
Yes. Any MVAM state is being completely ignored.

Rob, if you recently installed a new version of P3D v4, your P3D v4 Run as Admin status might have changed. If the Cold and dark setting is persisting in the AMS, then the AMS is reading the files correctly. If the sim is ignoring it though, then the permissions problem is in the sim.

Hi Jonathan,

On my main FS PC, P3D V4.2 was installed a few days before "release" (back in Feb), so nothing "new" there .. both MVAM and P3D V4.2 is set to "Run As Admin" and P3D resides in D:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D V4 outside of any "OS protected" folders.

Cheers, Rob.
