310R TO performance at altitude [Answered]

Hi there,
Loving the 310R - I've got a few hours in it now and feel like i have wrapped my head around leaning and get good performance in general.
I've run into a problem however, getting the plane off the ground at an airport like Aspen (or anywhere ~8,000ft MSL) -- With a TO weight of about 5000lb, I just wasn't able to get the plane to climb much at all, even with 8000ft of runway at KAXX.
Am I just pressing my luck here with the combination of weight and altitude, or should this be possible? As I said, I thought I had my head wrapped around the leaning, but I just can't find enough power to get this done.
