B350i Select Button and speeds [Resolved - Chaseplane conflict]

Post by luis.sanchi.m » Fri Jan 08, 2021 12:02 am

Hello everyone.

I have any questions about this addon.

I found out that the select button is pressing the mouse wheel, but I can't press the knob on the ESIS to change the altimeter from inches to hPA. Can I change this setting?

I have not found any document where the speeds of Vapp and Vt appear.

It's possible edit the actual checklist? There is a "USER CHECKLIST MENU" but I don't know if it's available.

Thanks for your time!

Press the M button, scroll down to "baro type" with your mouse wheel on the knob. Push middle mouse button on knob, pick HPA, click MMB on the knob again.

I don't think the user checklist can be edited.

I push that button in other sites like baro to set STD and its works, but not in ESIS.

What abaout Vapp speeds?

You set the Vref (Vapp) speed via the REFS button.

I can't set baro STD on ESIS either and I can't select baro type.

Maybe try moving your view point. If everything else is working I can't understand why you can't click the buttons. Pressing B will sync the baros.

I had a conflict with Chaseplane, which has the middle mouse button allocated to certain functions. When I was very very careful, or turned off CP temporarily, it worked 100% correctly.

Thanks Kevin I had forgotten about the MMB functionality of CP, That can definitely interfere since both are intercepting the MMB.

I have CP as well and when I read here about the MMB use on ESIS, I deactivated CP but still can't have any effect on ESIS 😅

Are you able to click the M button on the ESIS to bring up the menu and scroll through?

Sorry for the late reply, I forgot to come here checking for replies. Haven't flown for the last few days, I'm doing a repaint on which I also have some texture issues (probably related to Photoshop and Nvidia DDS exporter), but that is not for this topic.
Yes I am able to bring the menu and scroll, but I am unable to select anything in that menu, only am able to scroll up and down.

Regarding the repaint issue, all is sorted now. I was lacking the Texture.cfg on my repaint folder.

Now back on topic, I did a couple of flights tonight around KBEC Beechcraft Factory near Wichita Kansas and noticed that the only knob in which the MMB isn't working is the ESIS one. The ones in the autopilot are working fine, as well as the barometric pressure on both MFDs. I can turn the knob for either side, but can't press it with the MMB.

This is the first report of this problem I've seen outside of Chaseplane causing an issue so it has to be something on your end. Have you tried reinstalling?

As a matter of fact, when you asked about it, I didn't remember to try that, but after reading your suggestion I already tried it (deactivating antivirus while installing)... With the same result. However, when I click on it with the MMB, I can hear the click sound, but only the sound, it still doesn't have any functionality, so uninstalling and reinstalling didn't solve the issue. However, a new issue arose. Shortly after take-off, the plane started to shake both in sideways and vertically and even though I was able to follow the lateral navigation on autopilot (both heading or nav/FMS worked well), the AP did not obey any vertical command, neither FLC nor VS or VNAV, however on manual flight I was able to have full control, despite the constant bouncing. I thought it could be due to weather so I tried closing Activesky and clearing all weather, but it didn't help.

I've asked a developer to take a look to see if there is anything else you can try.
