Pc-6 Porter vs DHC-3T Otter
Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a "bush plane" for P3D since I'm enjoying flying around PNG and the Pacific Islands at the moment and I can't decide between these two aircraft. I'm really looking for advice on which might be the more reliable, less trouble-prone and most fun to fly (not that Milviz would ever be troublesome!).
I'd be grateful for any thoughts.
Cheers
Warwick

They are both great - both have amphibian and ski versions so you are not limited to where you can land in either case.
My personal favorite is the PC-6 , seems to be able to get in and out of tighter spots quicker, but that's just my opinion.
Both are slated for V5 upgrades soon but aren't quite ready yet. They both work good in v4 HF3 but the WXR is not updated yet to work on HF3 ( Works fine in HF2) so you can't use the radio stack options that include the WXR.
Both planes also support the GTN - thats what I use.

Hey Steve, thanks for that insight.
One technical detail that you might have knowledge about is that I noticed in the manual for the Otter there's a list of Event Mapping and Local Variables which is very useful for programming hardware etc. I couldn't see one in the Porter doc. Are you able to map Saitek panels etc on the Porter ok?
Many thanks

It is my understanding some things can and others no, but I do not own any Saitek gear so I'm not much help in that department. Maybe ask in the general product forum if other users were able to do so.
