phantom f4e autopilot

hi everybody,
i own the phantom f4e for long time now but i didn't manage to figure out how the autopilot works.
i enable the yaw roll and pitch stab augments.
i engage the acfs and when i engage the alt, i can get altitude hold.
but when i turn the nav knob to hdg it does not follow the hdg knob position.
2 important things here:
1. i don't speak good english, so reading the manual maybe i missed something
2. i just started 1 week ago with fighter planes, so i have no experience in their logic.
so maybe i should do something else? maybe i didn't turn on an important switch on the plane?
i didn't calibrate the ins because i think it has nothing to do with the hdg. i hope i am not wrong :)
thank you !!

ps. p3d4.5 hf3 is the version i use.

I will ask one of the developers for you as I don't currently have this installed. Going off memory I believe the autopilot on has Altitude and Attitude, I don't think it has heading modes.

the nav comp has att hdg tacan and nav comp modes.
i thought the hdg is to follow the hdg bug position. but as you said lets wait to get an answer from the developers.
what is the attitude mode exactly?

Slayer is correct. The mode knob is purely for HSI/ADI and gunsight flight director display modes. The autopilot has no heading/course tracking capability.
