add-on xml installation method

Post by bvdboomen » Thu Apr 30, 2020 6:20 pm

Hello,

Is Milviz supporting the add-on xml installation method of P3D in the near future for new and existing planes?
If you don't, I know how to do it manually but how is MVAMS handling this?
I searched the forum but I can't find anything about it.

Cheers,
Ben.

Even I want to know about this...

Is this forum used that much. I do see that the op's post is over year old?

No it's not supported and we aren't really actively developing anything new for P3D at the moment.

It has been suggested that the cause of install problems on the KA350 could be missing xmltool.exe

am I missing something here? Running prep3dv5.2

He is speaking of the new method of P3D installation where the addon resides outside the sim and it is read from an XML file wher to load the add on from. Two different topics.

Again these are two totally different subjects. The OP is asking if it's possible to install the aircraft externally outside of the P3D folder using the ADDON XML installation method and if we will support that on the KA.

You are asking about XMLTOOLS that is a helper program for the KA that makes the gauges and some animations work in the aircraft, if that doesn't get installed then nothing will work, the bird will be dead.

Thanks Steve, this must be the cause of my problem.

I asked Orbx about the missing xml tool and their response was "Downloads from them come from Milviz"

So, after 3 months are we in reach of solving this issue?

Please see this post in the KA support section , this is just general support area:

viewtopic.php?f=105&t=12750

If you can't get it to work please create a new forum post in the KA support and attach your dll.xml and we will get it sorted.
