RealLight Initialization Error

Following a recent update to the RealLight platform, some of our planes will throw an initialization error on install.

We are in the process of re-working the affected products but in the meantime, you may resolve any RealLight initialization errors by going to the RealLight/Textures folders and removing any files where the name is not made up entirely of numerals.
Any that you find can be safely deleted. Example _0.bmp or thumbs.db should be removed; files comprised of numbers only, like 04.dds or 7.bmp, should be left in place.

I might be daft, but where would I find this reallight folder and its textures subfolder?

Thanks!
I see on some aircraft 0.bmp files, no _0.bmp , so no underscores in filename. I reckon you mean the 0.bmp to be removed to get rid of the errors?

Nope that one is fine. Looks like the problem is elsewhere.

I have the same RealLight errors. An error occurred while loading a texture.HRESULT: The specified file not found.

Exactly the same to me. It started when I installed the lightweight texture pack. If I reinstall the PC-6 SP1 from scratch, then no issues. Re-installing lightweight textures, and the RealLight initialization Error pops up again.

Hope it helps.

My suspicion is that the version chosen wasn't the base model , If that posted texture set is used then it would need to be in each version before loading that aircraft , IE if you replace the Reallight folder in the ski version with the low rez one you will not have the bitmap issue .

Again this is a temporary fix while the underlying problem is resolved .

This error is with the DHC-3 Turbo Otter then crash to desktop.
I have re-installed but still can't load in Sim.
I have the Cessna 310R,Piper PA-30 and PC6 all run OK.

I did my test only with the base model of the PC-6 actually. I tried first with light texture set, and then as well with low res and the temporary fix I found here : https://milviz.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... 883#p91279

But neither try was succesfull regarding RealLight initialization.
I just tried as well with Ski or Amphibian version but result is the same.

To add to this, I have exactly 9 messages of initialisation error when I'm loading the PC-6 (no matter the version).

Sometimes, things just get weird! :D Good luck for your bug tracking guys ;)

Have you looked in subfolder "FF" of textures? There you should have the _0.BMP file.

I went ahead and deleted the _0.bmp in the FF Folder but the issue still remains. The T38C seems to be missing quite a few on mine and the Otter is also missing one after a clean install. The temporary RealLights folder issued by someone else helped to get rid of the errors but unfortunately killed RealLights on the T38C.

No subfolder "FF" present under ../simobjects/aircraft/reallight/textures.

A proper fix would be mighty handy now. The errors are small nuisance, but lighting missing from your fine planes is a real immersion killer.

Milviz T-38C is the best of the best and I´m a very demanding person. Milviz T-38C is an advance, fun A/C to fly and I longing to take hers out at night soon again, looking deep into hers red eyes ;)
