DHC-3T: radios not working in NAVSTAX configuration
Seems I have a rough start with this airplane. I also have a problem with the radios: in NAVSTAX WX configuration, only the Bendix/King autopilot works, and only partially. I can set Altimeter and Altitude, but nothing else. All other radios are dead and cannot be switched on. This is after firing up the engine and waiting until the generator is live. Weather radar works fine.
Interestingly, the same radios (ADF, Com, Transponder, ..) work in the default configuration with the GPS unit installed. I bought the plane specifically because I did NOT want a GPS unit, so I am mainly interested in the NAVSTAX configuration.
Can you confirm that NAVSTAX works?
While we're at it: thew amplified checklist contains the following items.
d. All switches - OFF (except
generator switch on Junction
Box which is to be left ON at all
times.).
h. Inverter Switch - ON.
Can someone point me to the location of these switches?
Thanks,
Peter

Re: DHC-3T: radios not working in NAVSTAX configuration
Resolved. I didn't know that one had to buy NAVSTAX radios. I am quite surprised that the same type of radios that work in the default configuration have to be purchased in another configuration.

Re: DHC-3T: radios not working in NAVSTAX configuration
Hello Jonathan,
I didn't intend to compare NAVSTAX to default radios in terms of quality. What I was trying to say is that there are similar radios in the DHC-3T with default radio set, and they work there. They do not work in NAVSTAX configuration unless you make a separate purchase. I guess the default radios just look the same but are not from the NAVSTAX set. Well, lesson learned. Pity that NAVSTAX radios seem only to be integrated in the VC of Milviz airplanes for now.
Coming back to the DHC-3T, I still was unable to locate the inverter switch that is mentioned in the manual. Also, I was trying to set the plane up for FSCaptain and noticed that neither atc_model nor atd_id are set in aricraft.cfg, which makes it harder to use the plane with it.

Re: DHC-3T: radios not working in NAVSTAX configuration
Peter, even though I call them "Default" in MVAMS, they are in fact custom avionics I scripted based on default variables and commands provided by the sim (FSX and/or P3D). Perhaps I should have labeled them "Standard" instead...

If you load the "Free Radio" panel, those are the actual sim default avionics, which is why they are 2d (flat) in the VC.
