Corsair - Missing Cockpit Cameras since MSFS SU7 [Answered]
Greetings,
Since the latest MSFS update (7) I am finding that some camera views in the cockpit are missing. I do not have any camera addons running.
But I notice that there are only 2 cockpit camera angles, which are both very close to eth dashboard. I am sure there used to be others.
You may be aware of this but in case not I thought I should bring it to your attention.
This is still my favourite aircraft for MSFS so it would be good to know if there are any plans to update it for the latest MSFS.
My best, P.
nb. I will attach screenshots later if required.

Here is a screen shot. You can see in cockpit there are only 2 cameras: Close and Landing.
I have reinstalled, no change.

Thanks for the report, investigating the issue.

Thanks Steve, on top of this I am finding that the initial cockpit view is OK, without touching anything. However, once either of the 2 available views are switched to (using controller), they seem to get stuck and cannot be switched back again. I guess this is all part of the same issue. Cheers once again.

So, I see that the "landing" view gets "stuck" but you can clear it pressing the mouse wheel. This is standard MSFS2020 behavior. You may want to assign different controls or reassign the mouse wheel using the Camera section in the mouse controller in MSFS

I checked the camera.cfg file and the views I see in the sim are what is matched in that file so it would appear that it is ok.

Hi Steve. Did you look at my screen shot?

I also checked the camera config originally and what is showing in game is not the same as what is showing in the config file.
Please verify that you looked at my screen shot and compared the two.
Also regarding the locking. No this is not standard at all. Using buttons (on Xbox controller) to change camera views has always worked previously without views getting stuck and still does work perfectly on all other aircraft. Nothing to do with mouse or mouse wheels involved.
(Xbox controller is plugged into PC and configured correctly).
If you need more info please tell me what I can send you in order to not have this dismissed as user error.
Thanks ever so much. P.

I do not have an XBox controller but the mousewheel is standard behavior. Look at your controller settings (default). These are mine.papendlebury wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 12:55 am

I assigned a control button to the Toggle Instrument Freelook control and it does not work. I call MSFS fault

Re: Corsair - Missing Cockpit Cameras since MSFS SU7
Thanks but as I mentioned, this issue has nothing to do with the mouse controls or different camera modes.
It is the fact that there are only 2 camera views available in the Cockpit view, which is clearly shown on my screenshot linked above (and now below). Also when one of those views is selected it gets stuck but that is not really a big issue and may be MSFS at fault. As I said before, the mouse is irrelevant.
The point is that there are missing cockpit views inside the airplane since SU7.

Perhaps you can show a screen shot of your Cockpit Camera view choices in the Corsair.
I am not new to this.

In the cameras.cfg itself there are only 2 views for "pilot" though. Many of the other views for the instruments etc are under instrument or quickviews. Asobo didn't modify the cameras.cfg in the MV version.

Ok Steve thanks.
This is odd because the default view (that is active on loading the plane), once changed away from. There seems no way to get it back.
Not to worry thanks for your time.

I'm having the same issue but I'm encountering it slightly differently. When the plane first loads, it is the normal cockpit view. I use the POV hat for "Next Pilot Position" (POV up) and "Previous Pilot Position". (POV down) These are default assignments. Pressing the hat up gives the "close" view, but then pressing it down should go back to the default view. But this does not work, it stays in the close view.
This works in all other planes, and used to work in the Corsair.
Yes, you can reset the view manually with freelook, but you should not have to do this.
I hope this can be fixed.
Edit: Just noticed that hitting F10 for "Toggle VFR Cockpit Mode" resets the view properly, but I still think it should be cycled with "Next Pilot Position" and "Previous Pilot Position".

Exactly the same thing. I didn’t explain if well enough I guess.
If you look on sim to you’ll find “better cameras” for a lot of aircraft. Worth a look.
