Some issues I've come across

Hello,
For some reason NWS won't engage. I've tried to get it working but even when mapped it doesn't seem to function. Even in ready to fly mode NWS doesn't respond. That said rudder moves.
In the MVAMS, the cursor range axis control moves the wrong way. When I attempt to reverse the axis, click save and then save defaults, it doesn't change?
This may be more tacpack related, though I'm not sure the cursor freeze button works for me though I have it set through MVAMS?
Brakes don't seem to respond through my pedals. I don't have it configured through FSUIPC but instead direct. Brakes works on the keyboard but not pedals so can't use differential brakes.

P3D.4.22
Cheers,
Peter

What key are you assigning for NWS? Maybe a conflict with P3D key assignment?

Assignments shouldn't conflict with the AMS because I mask those hardware inputs from the sim (although you need to check your controls settings to be sure that it is using Direct Input not Raw Input in P3D).

Is your NWS set to toggle or not? If it is not toggle, you have to hold the button in like in reality to have NWS.

I just discovered my axis inversion algorithm is incorrect. Will put it out through the updater soon.
Cursor Freeze only works in Beacon mode. Check in the rear cockpit. The cursor freeze light button on the right console should light up.

For brakes, verify that your P3D control input is set to DirectInput not RawInput.

Hello,
Haven't had the time to check the beacon mode again. However when I first tried beforehand in BEACON mode nothing happened. I'll try later in the back pit.
For NWS, I checked to see whether it was set to toggle. It was. Oddly I only got NWS when I held the button down.
I changed to direct input - no change in brakes.
Thanks,
Peter

Check your axis mappings after switching to DirectInput. P3D often resets them.

I did so. They were fine on other aircraft.

And you reloaded the sim after changing it?

Yes each time if i have made any change I reload the sim.

In what way are you determining that the breaks are not functional? Is it due to the parking brake not turning off when you give break inputs or does the aircraft fail to respond? Anti skid is active?

So usually the parking brake is on when I launch the aircraft. I then press '.' to stop it as I've found with previous releases of the F-4E that moving the brakes on my pedals didn't do anything.
When I move both brake pedals(left and right) I see no indication of the brakes moving(either through the red indicator in the bottom left saying differential brakes/brakes, or in the F-4E cockpit the pedals do not respond to brake movement. Conversely if I press '.' then I see the brakes engage.
In both cases of whether anti-skid is on or off nothing changes.
Thanks,
Peter

What if you delete all AMS axis assignments?

You want me to clear ALL of the assignments on, including other unrelated functions like TGT insert etc?

No just the axis commands (cursor and elevation).

The axis I had set was radar azimuth and radar range.
Interestingly when I disabled azimuth I got the left brake back, and when i disabled range I got the right brake back.
For some reason the last time I mentioned NWS was the only time I got it working and I stuck again with no NWS as well. Not sure whether I'm doing something wrong.

Sorry, range axis allowed me left brake, azimuth right.
