Afterburner flames not visible
Hi,
after taking up the sale deal and buying the ADV and Tacpack upgrade, I uninstalled base F4, reinstalled it, then Tackpac, then ADV version, then repaint pack.
Now when I engage afterburner, I hear it kicking in and see it on the dials, but on outside view the flames are not visible anymore like in the base version. Any hoops I have to jump through to get it visible again?

If you look at the VC throttles, do they move all the way into their max range?

Yes, when above 85% i set in amvs they jump to the max. I also hear them engaging, just no visible flames on the outside view.JonathanBleeker wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:15 pmIf you look at the VC throttles, do they move all the way into their max range?

Please get the jet into max AB, then go to the FS fuel and payload menu and send a screenshot of the left and right tip tank levels.
Also, do you have any addon that might be affecting fuel tank levels?

Hi,
see attached.
Regarding your question about fuel tank level addons: not that I'm aware of, except maybe GSX?

Does it edit the aircraft.cfg? (fuel section)
Fuel can only be edited with the AMS menu: fuel slide

Re: Afterburner flames not visible
In GSX I can ask for a refuel, after which a truck comes up and refuels me, but lets me choose either a percentage of tanks filled, or gets me the fuel window in sim to manually do it. I never use it with the F4 so I guess it does not play a factor here?
Regarding the fuel tank pic: what am I looking for here?

It seems your ADV install didn’t overwrite the base aircraft cfg.

Re: Afterburner flames not visible
Ok, so best bet is uninstall, manually remove all f4 folders from simobjects, then install base, tackpack, adv, skinpack and recheck?
Or can I just delete the base cfg file and reinstall adv and skinpack as a shortcut, making sure the base cfg file is now gone?

Aha. The skinpack is the possible offender. Make sure you only copy the flightsim sections, not the rest of the aircraft cfg if it includes it. Yes you can try just deleting the current base cfg file and reinstall ADV and skinpack.

Re: Afterburner flames not visible
Fixed!
The skinpack is indeed the culprit when copying over the entire aircraft.cfg in it, putting in (back) stuff from the adv update.
Only putting over the repaint sections into the already installed aircraft.cfg fixes / prevents the flames not appearing anymore (and who knows what else).
Thanks!

Re: Afterburner flames not visible
Do you use original Livery coming with the original F-4E install? Do not use Livery separately downloaded.
