Re: No Pitch Axis
I am getting some elevator trim axis using the joystick button, but the aircraft is still very jittery in pitch
I have tried reducing sensitivity in the cfg, is anyone getting this aircraft to fly stable in P3D 4.4 ? if so, can
you show me the cfg settings you have ? I am getting close to giving up with it !

Re: No Pitch Axis
Since you are using the ADV, don't try to change anything in the aircraft cfg as that won't have any effect, at least, not a good one.
What sort of loadouts are you flying with?

Re: No Pitch Axis
I just have 2 wing tanks nothing else, I have deleted and reloaded the aircraft P11 + ADV tried once again to get a
stable flight, slight improvement but not much I have been flying sim aircraft for some time and know when something
is not right and can usually correct things with slight adjustments in flight tuning, but you advise not to change things in cfg.
Is their anyone finding it ok in P3D v4.4 ? All looks ok, and basic switches all work as per manual, but In my opinion there is a
problem with the flight dynamics and requires an update. By the way I had no problem with the basic P11 in P3D v4.3.

I just sent you an email to double check that you have the latest base package installer.

Re: No Pitch Axis
No, I can only get slight Pitch trim (elevator trim ) if I use an up and down switch on my joystick, every other aircraft I have
I can do this on a slider switch . I have been able to get better stability by reducing the sensitivity of the ailerons in the cfg
but despite numerous efforts the nose is still fighting to go down and I have to keep pulling back on the stick the trim does not
give enough adjustments I have been flying simulator aircraft for a long time and this is the only aircraft I have found that can
not be controlled for a stable flight. THERE IS SOMETHING NOT RIGHT WITH THIS AIRCRAFT AND IT NEEDS CORRECTING!

Re: No Pitch Axis
Adjusting the aircraft cfg is again, not to be done under any circumstances. The ADV is using an external flight model system that is extremely sensitive to changes in the aircraft cfg that can conflict with our internal physics engine.
The flight control system in this aircraft is not designed to use an axis slider for trim, and changing it to do so is not possible due to the nature of its function.
One last thing to verify though, if you remove the trim axis and use only buttons, can you move the trim indicator through its entire range of motion? Not asking about effect here, just the indicator.

Re: No Pitch Axis
Well here's a turn-up, I had not installed the tacpac version which you kindly supplied me with as I do not have tacpack and know very little about it, so I only installed the P11 F4E and ADV as my logic was the tacpac version would not alter the basic flight controlling..
However as I was getting nowhere I thought I may as well try it and lo and behold it has corrected all the problems with stability and pitch trim.
However It does not alter the fact that I was right about the problem being there with the aircraft in P3D v4.4 .
But you have corrected it now and though it has been a frustrating time for me and one I think should not have been necessary all ls well now.

strange....did you install the ADV again after the TACPACK version?

Re: No Pitch Axis
No Jon, I installed the basic F4E then the ADV to enable it to fly in P3D v4.4, flew it and found big problems with stability, then installed the Tacpac. version. I was a little bit overoptimistic saying all is now well, although it is 90% better it still has to be a bit of a fight to keep the pitch stable and one has to keep tweaking the pitch trim (elevator trim) constantly NO IT IS NOT THE PILOTS SKILL it is because the aircraft still requires some tweaking in P3D v4.4.

Re: No Pitch Axis
In the F-4, if your speed is not stable, your trim won't be. Trim changes with speed.

Re: No Pitch Axis
I refer the honourable gentleman to my comments in the last post , I am flying at a stable speed.
I shall soon be giving up on this aircraft at putting it in my hangar as a museum piece.

Re: No Pitch Axis
All I can suggest further then is what one other user tried who was also experiencing pitch instability. He recalibrated his joystick and that solved it for him.

Re: No Pitch Axis
OK Jon
Here is my final report on this aircraft, today I loaded it and left it for 5 minutes to ensure engine and systems
appeared fully loaded and then commenced taxi and takeoff it flew stable and I had a pleasant Sortie from
Lakenheath through the Mach Loop in Wales and landed at RAF Valley Pitch control was ok and I did not have to
tweak it continuously as on previous flights, there was a couple of instability moments when turning sharply through
the valleys and also the approach and landing, but I think with practice this may be cured I also found a couple of times
on loading there was no engine wind up and I had to reload scenario.
So It will remain on my flight line, I have never had such problems in any of my other aircraft Payware and Freeware
that are for, or been updated for P3D v4.4 and I hope I do not again .
OVER and OUT.
