Rain effects in FSX
Are rain effects not modeled in this version for FSX? I noted tonight that the rain in the legacy 310R are animated but I am not getting that in the Redux.

There’s no rain in the original 310. Not sure what you’re seeing.
There’s also no rain in the redux FSX version.

Re: Rain effects in FSX
With your original 310R I am sitting here parked at KBMG with rain falling and visibly falling from both interior views and from exterior views, even creating splashes on the tarmac. When I load the Redux the rain is static. There, but only static streaks. No animation. Clearly happening with the original loaded. I don't believe I have any ability to capture and post video from the sim.

Re: Rain effects in FSX
as the person who did the 310 (I own the company) i can tell you that what you're seeing isn't rain splashing on the windshield and rolling down ...
THAT happens in P3D 4.2 with the TFDi plugin that we use (TrueGlass).
In FSX (and the original) there is NO plugin and the rain is only doing what FSX allows it to do. I.e. there will be no rain on the windshield or glass.
Sorry.

Found a way to capture video.
First video is 331PP. The original Milviz 310R
https://photos.smugmug.com/Other/Avioni ... X-1280.mp4
Second video is 633RS, the Redux.

Watch the "paused" flag at the lower left to determine when I took each off of pause. In the Redux video you can see the Nav lights begin to sequence.
Clearly fully animated rain in the first and totally static in the second.

Re: Rain effects in FSX
Again, Frank, the effects you’re speaking of are part of FSX and not part of the 310.

So why are the effects not working with the Redux? I loaded 12 different aircraft models last evening including your Baron 55 and your previous 310R and the Redux is the only one where the rain becomes static like in the video.

Are you using the WXR? Try not using it and see...

You aren't seeing the rain. You are seeing wet ground but you are in a no precipitation zone (turn on the WX and see where you are in relation to the precip cells).

Jon. It looks like the rain is there but not moving...

That's the ground reflections you are looking at, not the actual rain itself.

Re: Rain effects in FSX
LOL! Did you watch both videos? One had animated rain, in the other the rain was there but static (not moving). The AWOS at the airport was reporting rain.JonathanBleeker wrote: ↑Wed May 30, 2018 3:00 pmYou aren't seeing the rain. OK. But it will have to wait until next time I am in rain.

Re: Rain effects in FSX
Both videos were kinda low res and blurry so I couldn't see any static white streaks in the second which I saw were moving in the first.
